Visit Overview My family's visit to The Maple Bar in Suisun City on a Saturday morning in January 2024 was a delightful start to our weekend. Arriving at 9 am with my kids, we were pleased to find no wait time, a pleasant surprise given the cafe's typical popularity. My curiosity was piqued by the enticing online images of their breakfast specialties, particularly pancakes, waffles, and French toast that seemed perfect for a fun kids' meal.
Atmosphere and Decor The cafe boasts a charming bar-themed decor, with a vibe that leans more towards an adult audience, possibly due to their famous mimosas. However, their breakfast offerings, especially the pancakes, waffles, and French toast, are not only delicious but also visually appealing for children. Service The service was a highlight of our visit. The staff was attentive and frequently checked on us, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
Food and Drink The kids delighted in their chocolate, fruity pebble, and banana foster waffles, devouring them completely - a testament to both the portion size and taste. I opted for the chicken and waffle with a sweet and spicy glaze, which was both satisfying and flavorful. The presentation of each dish was notably beautiful.
Pricing The pricing is something to consider, with individual meals ranging from $10 to $20. Our total bill, which included four meals but no alcoholic beverages, came close to $100 with tips. Overall Experience The Maple Bar is an excellent choice for couples or groups of friends, thanks to its inviting brunch menu and diverse breakfast and lunch options. While it seems to cater more to an adult clientele, children will definitely enjoy the food, as evidenced by my kids' enthusiasm. I recommend it for anyone looking for a quality brunch experience.
Conclusion My overall rating for The Maple Bar is a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars. While I am eager to return and explore more of their menu, I might consider a visit without the kids next time, for a slightly more economical experience. The Maple Bar is definitely a must-visit for those in search of a great brunch spot in...
Read moreI tried the "Maple Bar" this morning, I was not fully impressed. A 40 minute wait for what? Tables were open and seating was available at the bar. Why the wait? Besides the wait... there is no where to sit and wait. So other customers who where also waiting, were in sitting in their cars. After waiting 40 mins, we finely got a table. Ordering was easy, food came out pretty fast. My niece ordered they're Chillikilas, it did not come with any meat (Carne Asada) on the side. So she ordered steak bites to go with. It was good. I tried it. 😋 She also ordered a cinnamon roll pancake, it was OK... it was drenched in cinnamon, no other toppings so it was just basic. I did the build your own breakfast. I was a little disappointed in the side choice, I really wanted grits (not an menu item) 😫, but I picked fruit instead. No angus beef patties, so I picked chicken sausage. I asked for my eggs soft and that was ignored. 😔 fruit was fresh and 😋 yummy. Coffee was good also. They had a selection of mimosa's too. Over all I like the set up, cute little hole in the wall, in Suisun City, near the train station. I give it a 7/10. I personally feel with some small touch up's on the menu and a better waiting seating area, then I would reconsider my 7/10 and give it a better rating. I will try again, I always give a second try. I did check the menu for a friend, and I did find the Monte Cristo there, if you go and try let me know how it goes, like I said, I'm willing to give a second try. I've also included some pics I took. Silly me only took one side of the menu and I forgot to take pics of the food. 🤦🏽♀️ Hope this...
Read moreCame here early Sunday while waiting for my puppy to be groomed. I had heard good things from other folks, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I was seated right away as it wasn't busy at all. They had a small stand up heater, so I sat in the booth next to it since it was freezing cold in the restaurant! The service was fine, nothing over the top. Food and coffee was basic. I ordered the cinnamon roll pancake combo. My eggs were cooked nicely, but they were not seasoned at all. The pancake was fluffy, but I thought there would be something more special about them, not just a little drizzle of cinnamon and cream cheese on top of regular pancake and call it cinnamon roll. Definitely not worth $18. I felt like it was just a meal you can get at a Denny's restaurant for probably a lot less. Because it was cold, I had the pleasure of one of the servers come stand right next to my table getting some warmth from the standing heater several times while I was there. Not very professional and awkward if you ask me. There was a lot of unprofessional conversations happening in the back kitchen area as well...we really don't want to hear that one of the workers was just taking a "piss" while we are all trying to eat in the dining room area! Just a tip to keep convos to a minimum or take it outside. Not sure if I'll come back again, or just go back to our other usual spots around there...Joy of Eating, Babs and Athenian Grill are great regular spots in...
