Please avoid spending your time and money here. Sushi was good, but there are several restaurants nearby that are on par or better which are cheaper/equal in price + good service. The service here is absolutely horrible. Upon arriving we were seated quickly in a mostly empty restaurant. The table next to us had been seated probably ten minutes before as there were two guests there and two more who arrived after we did. Upon initial order of food and drink, we were never helped again unless we initiated help with service through verbally asking. The table next to us received constant attention but the servers always had their back to us and never turned to ask if we required anything. One server took our initial order and we never saw her again. Two different servers were required to take additional requests, both of which made you feel as though you were troubling them. Our tables were never cleaned, waters never filled, check never came. Completely ignored. When asked for the manager, we were told there was none. When we complained about the service, was offered no apology. Finally, we got ahold of the manager, who said she was the owner, who's only offer of explanation was that it was busy, which is was not. No apology, no offer of compensation, just a bill and a verbal indication to not give a tip if we were unsatisfied with the service. After giving us the bill, no one came to take it for several minutes. It was so appalling it was worth walking out on the check, bit still I paid. I cannot express enough that the service here is terrible and I do not believe they care at all. I don't believe they care about any of these reviews and will continue on just as they do. For the price and location, you would expect so much more and should. You receive a better experience at your local McDonald's than...
Read moreMy girlfriend used to like a couple of the rolls here but the quality and service has been going down consistently over the years. Tonight was the final straw for us and we won't be back again. Our $20 Toro sashimi was frozen solid in the middle and the chef wasn't even competent enough to cut it all the way through haha. Really sad. In fact the normal maguro/akami was more tender than the Toro for some inexplicable reason. We ended up leaving a piece even though it's $7 a slice. I ordered one of the tempura rolls and it was not cooked through, meaning there was raw tempura batter inside which was pretty gross in both taste and texture. Furthermore, our waitress took a very long time to take our order. I noticed her walking out of the front door. After a while I see her walk back in with a bag and a drink from Five Guys next door. This is at 8pm, not that it would be acceptable at any other time but even less acceptable at a "peak" time I would think. A couple of years ago at this location we visited when the entire staff was blind drunk which was pretty insane. Anyway that's the last time for us, can't recommend...
Read moreWhen we used to live close by to Sushi Loca 6 years ago, we used to take our friends and families here and brag about this place for the great food.
After last night, my husband and I were disappointed. We could barely understand the server as she served us like a "drive-by." She tried rushing us to order even though we told her we weren't ready.
They updated their menu with extremely raised prices. The chicken teriyaki rice bowl was a scoop of rice and about 3 tablespoons of chicken topped with teriyaki sauce. It was like an overpriced kids' meal.
"A taste of your ex-girlfriend" used to be our favorite and was presented nicely. Now, it just looked like everything was just dumped on the plate. I usually include photos, but I was too bummed out that it made me forget to do so.
It was a disappointing revisit. It's now a point of no return. I can no longer brag about this place since it's on the bottom of our list of sushi...
