Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Summerville

Went to Applebee's last night for the 3rd time,the first was terrible, I posted a review and the owner responded with a apology and a link for the franchise to respond but was never responded to, so went back second time and talked with a manager named Jordan a super nice lady who made my second experience a 10 star experience she went above and beyond to make sure my food and service was top notch. Awesome job miss Jordan!!! Went back last night for the 3rd time and miss Jordan was not there yet and my service was absolutely horrible I sat at the bar were I usually like because of better service but last night I was wrong, I waited for about 10 minutes for the bartender to ask for my drink order even when she walked past me 3 times and helped the people beside me who came in 5 minutes after I did I should have left then but I stayed and finally got my drink order in sweet tea and water ,when she (jolyn) brought it to me it was unsweetened tea and it took 5 minutes for me to catch her to correct it I tried to place a order but she was occupied by arguing with another customer about her not getting service for about 5 minutes when I was able to get my order in I decided to get the 12 ounce ribeye since the first bouban street steak was so small and over cooked my first time I was there, I also had double fries cooked lightly, while I was waiting for my food I asked for a drink refill 2 times and never got it when my food was ready I asked for a tea refill and said may I have some tea for the third time you could tell from her face she was not happy that I said that I started to eat my fries and they were hard as rocks and there was only 1 order instead of 2 ,so I started to eat my steak by the way I only eat steak when I go out to eat which is 5 times a week, my steak was perfectly cooked medium but the taste was what you would expect if you ate at waffle house, and it looked like it was an 8 ounce,so I doused it with salt and pepper to give it some taste,which I had to get up and get from an empty table because the bartender was nowhere to be seen at the time,I ate it and was still hungry so I asked the bartender to place me an order of boneless chicken she put it in and I waited another 20 minutes for them I asked her for some more tea and then she said oh let me check on your wings they came out and they were over cooked and cold I suspect they were ready and were sitting back there a while. I always tip at least 50% because I know that servers don't get paid a fair amount pay because of tips usually they work hard and are super nice, not this time. So I only left her 5 dollars I alway leave something even when I get terrible service. Miss Jordan came to work as I was leaving and asked me how was my visit I asked her to go outside to explain so other customers would not hear it and she apologized numerous times and offered me to speak to her GM which was the but I declined, she explained that she would talk to them and I thanked her and left, I like going to Applebee's because usually it is great food and great service and it's convenient for me because I live across the street from this location, my opinion is miss Jordan should be running this store because she has the ability and kind service to make it what it should be. I pay for my food good or bad I don't expect for a free meal but I will give this store a fourth try and if it is not up to the way it should be I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN. SINCERELY...

2 visits back they set us up with a newby waitress,1day on the job.seamed like she had no training at all.not her fault but why should I have to deal with that. Last time I got set up with another waitress that thinks she has a steel trap for memory.she brought my salad out with my meal.im thinking why not bring the salad early so I can enjoy it then the meal.nope not at Applebee's we bring salad and meal at the same time.both which were not correct from the order,but we don't have a order sheet to look at because here at Applebee's we just remember it.(wrong).then when you say to much you are the one that's being difficult Then tonight after waiting 30 min we get seated and the waitress comes over and after talking to her for a min I said to my self we got a good one tonight. (Wrong) Once again she also had that steel trap for a memory.(didn't write the order) Told her I would like to get my salad early before my meal.she brings the salad out and I'm thinking this might turn out good.then I see my salad was not made to my specs.meanwhile my daughter wanted to get a salad also and when I told the waitress she had this look of discus on her face.so a little while goes by and she brings her salad and my wife's meal.my wife's brocali was not steamed enough.a short while later the manager brings my meal and my daughters meal,my wife tells her about the brocali and she replied no problem I will get you some more.not one time did the waitress come back to the table to check on us no drinks no condiments. Finally got done 20 min later,still no waitress,no drinks,no condiments.had to talk to the manager,I'm still waiting on that brocali and I just had her remove my meal from the ticket.She just acted like it was no big deal. Moral of the story I guess when I go to Applebee's I need to write my own order down and give it to the waitress Then ask for a resume to see how experienced the waitress is,to see if its going to be a good night or a bad night. Chances are its going to be a bad night This is why Applebee's is almost extinct.its not the food (Burgers are great) its the pitiful staff and sorry...

The owner or at least the main manger should be embarrassed by this store. The restaurant was not very busy but our waitress told us that she would only give us 1 menu and we had to share it and we just needed to get over it. If this place was busy people would just leave. Normally I would have flipped out having someone tell me something so stupid but I was not in the mood to deal with stupidity. The food was not good. I ordered the chicken and shrimp and the chicken looked like something out of a frozen box you would get in a microwave meal. Girlfriend got smoked salmon and she said it was ok but the masked potatoes tasted really old like they had been reheated all night and they are just using the same ones over and over. The only thing that was pretty good was my house salad and her Caesar salad. The appetizer we ordered was chicken quesadilla and it was barely warm so it had been sitting for a while before someone brought it out. Again no point in complaining since the manager can’t even make sure there is menus for customers to use. This experience was in July2023. So what excuse can they possibly have for terrible food , no menus and can’t even bring out a hot appetizer. I understand sometimes food can be late but the pure laziness of not have menus. This place is just stealing their customers money. When they close at some point I guess it will be for the best. I’m going to call up to the store on Monday and ask if they are needing to place a order for menus since I do own a wholesale printing company so it will be funny when the manger says they don’t need menus but we were told they have no menus for there customers and we would have to share or scan a QR code. Nice try getting people to scan a QR code that could have a virus in it or malware. If you can’t afford menus I’m guessing you can’t afford a app made so you probably had it made in China or India and tbey places load malware into apps all the time. It would be nice if someone from Applebees reached out to me and really wanted to take care of problems...
