ice cream is okay, my daughters both have food allergies and we called ahead and they won't scoop from a new container-which a lot of places will do to accommodate. I asked for a clean scooper which she rinsed off. I asked her to check for one ingredient in the flavor we got (i was pretty sure because I get it in individual containers but sometimes recipes are different) and she rolled her eyes and checked. This is a classic Americana Ice Cream Parlor (in a historic and beautiful American town) but with beyond simply classic flavors. The ICE Cream and Yogurt Menu is extensive without being excessive for excessive sake. The character and integrity of the Ice Cream is excellent and they also have nearly every topping you can imagine, including all my favorite ones. McCools' Ice Cream Parlor staff are helpful, extremely polite and friendly and appear to take pride in serving the customer. McCools is a first rate experience all the way around. Simply put, it's Hershey's ice cream. Nothing homemade here so please don't let the name on the front fool you as being something original. Being that it's just that, "store bought ice cream", it's unnecessarily expensive (3 scoops for $8.50 and $1.20 toppings/each). What turned me off here most though was the $0.30 cent credit card fee they sneakily add to your order.
