I was recently on a first date at The Rock, as this young man said y'all had the best and biggest chicken wings he'd ever had and I knew regardless of if this date was a bust or not - I needed to find out for myself about these wings.
Within a few moments of meeting it was obvious we were not aligned or compatible as human beings but to be respectful and to complete my research on these wings I decided to tough it out and go through with the date. It was kinda slower and I didn't want there to be any implication of privacy or romance, so we sat at the bar. Let me tell you, grateful doesn't even begin to describe it.
This young man proceeded to spend the remainder of our date spoke of nothing but his day to day work life as if I were someone who was so actively in his life I would have any idea what he was even talking about. Any chance of subject change got rerouted to his topic of choice, even to the point of describing his "humility and lack of ego" like it wasn't his ego that was delivering such a sermon. It was after his third "I'm a really nice guy..." I knew I needed an ally to find reprieve in conversation and found the bartender's name was Allie.
What I'd like to describe as me nonchalantly getting her attention and signaling for a wingwoman was more likely an awkward flail and desperate cry for help - and help she DID.
The following 48 minutes of this train wreck of a date came with the silver lining of enjoying my perfectly seasoned, massive, garlic parm wings between belly laughs as Allie served this young man his misogynistic beliefs right back to him. The wings were really good and definitely some of the biggest I've ever had, but it was her quick wit, incredible customer service, and all around cutie patootieness that made the experience a great one; I will absolutely be back (and without that loser) because of it.

Read moreOur friend had her birthday celebration at the Rock this past Saturday. The lady bartender approached us and asked us to quiet down due to “customer complaints” that we were too loud and causing her customers to leave. The bar was pretty much empty and we are a group of Asian girls. At the same time, earlier in the night around 11am my sister had asked to order some food and she was told that that the kitchen was closed by the lady bartender. Right after being approached about being “too loud,” we see a party right next to us playing darts being served by bartender Seth. We are told by Seth that we were “too piercing” There was another man eating pizza at the bar way later than when my sister had asked to order food. Right before the group was approached by the lady bartender, this bartender Seth told two other friends who were ordering drinks that they were too piercing. We found out that the people who made complaints against us are the friend/regulars of the bartender, Seth. This was a slow night. Come to find out my sisters talked to the owner, who’s also Asian, and was playing pool at the time, told us that she off duty and couldn’t do anything about it. So if you’re loud and want have a good time, DO NOT go to the Rock in Sun Prairie. Spend you hard earned money...
Read moreVery large space, 12 pool tables, lots of tables. I have been there as part of employer sponsored events twice. They provided chicken wings, chicken wraps, cheese curds, pulled pork and all the cheese and sauces to go with them. They were all very good. They have at least 15 beers on tap including a number of local favorites. Prices are in line with other area bars. Place is clean but very low-frill. Tables are simple with metal stackable chairs. They have high-top tables around the outer edge with higher, more comfortable chairs. Pool tables are rented on a duration basis, not per game. You get the balls from the bartender. Tables are clean and seem pretty stable/accurate. I played about 20 games between the two nights and never noticed any...
