Taste Rite Jamaican Bakery — Restaurant in Sunrise

Went out of my way to get to this Bakery for my household and that of my island neighbors. It took 20 minutes for the commute and I arrived at approximately 1:00 pm. This is my third week in a row. First and foremost, they have an extensive menu of Jamaican baked products and patties. My first visit was great because they had what I wanted which was basic beef patties and gizada. Second week, I got there at around 2 pm and half of the items I wanted were unavailable. Today, June 9, 2020, I decided to give them another opportunity thinking that I may have simply gone too late the last visit. NOPE! I asked for callaloo Patty. Nope! Lobster Patty. Nope! Chicken Patty. Nope! Hard Dough Bread. Nope! Gizada. Nope! Shrimp Patty. Nope! Cheesy Beef Patty. Nope! Now, I am trying to do my best at that point to figure out what on earth I should buy because I came all this way only for the lighter skinned lady to hiss her teeth and walk off mumbling something on her way to the back. I gave her the benefit of the doubt thinking she was going to confirm availability. I was wrong! She never returned. So I ordered the basic patties and a bag of bulla from the other lady. This may be my last visit because there is no need to go all this way for this level of customer service and half of the items on the menu are not available. I might as well go to the more popular Jamaican restaurants for patties because they at least always have it, even if the taste isn't 100% how I would like it. Heads up!! When you visit, just simply ask WHAT DO YOU HAVE? This will save you from keep hearing NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! One last thing, please work on your pleasantries. This is completely lacking. And this is how you lose a loyal customer. This is the second time I’ve been here and they’ve sold me patties that aren’t taste rite patties. You can tell the taste is different. The beef tastes and smells weird. I’ve been to this store so many times and these last two times you’ve just disappointed me. I don’t know if the patties are just old or underbaked but something isn’t right. The patties are breaking apart literally just being in the bag. I knew something wasn’t right when she gave me two beef patties instead of the one I asked for. When it was time to pay I double checked and made sure it was only one beef patty, she said yes and only charged me for one but gave me two old patties. As if she was trying to get rid of these patties. You don’t do this especially not to your loyal customers that are always coming back! I am extremely upset because this is such a waste of money and time because now I have to find something else to eat after driving down here from Lakes. Smh! It was the same issue with the cheese patties by the way.. You just lost a loyal customer and it’s sad smh. I’m a bit disappointed in the least that I have to change my stars from 5 to 3. However, there’s always room for progress. Lately things have been a bit different with the woman in the front and Bryan. I believe they need a little more training on how to work together as a team. Team work makes the dream work. Take a page out of the weekend staffs book and this place will be outstanding. Maybe we can also inform the customers of the patties that are not on the menu for the day by using a dry marker to line them out. This will eliminate the disappointment of customers waiting in line for long periods of time only to find out that what we want is NOT AVAILABLE. It’s also disappointing when you place an order,pay for it and waited for minutes only to find out your order was passed on to the next customer and you have been forgotten about. Then without apology you are advised to wait about 20-30 minutes more for the next batch to be completed. We love the patties and hope the next experience will be better.
