Ahipoki — Restaurant in Surprise

Been waiting for this place to open, super excited that I don't have to drive to Glendale for my favorite poke bowl. Interestingly, this place disappointed me in all levels. Food was subpar, portions were small ( ordered 2 scoops bowl)staff doesn't really know how to explain what's in the bowl when you choose from the choices up on their menu board. I didn't get the same way the ingredients were put together, like other poke place I've been to. There was only a table occupied by a couple and then us, but the rest of the table were dirty. It wasn't even busy. The staff were young and seemed to be inexperienced ( maybe because this place barely opened)they need to be retrained. I have been going here pretty often since they have opened and I have to say it’s a staple in my house. The staff is always so friendly and acknowledging, they don’t rush me if I have questions and give answers that make sense. They are kind and patient. The food is always amazing quality, and taste incredibly fresh for being in Arizona. I have not been disappointed yet. Their Thai tea is amazing and my brother is obsessed with the tropical punch. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. I feel sad seeing some of the bad reviews just due to the fact the workers are all kind and professional, sometimes I think everyone forgets that food workers are people too and have unreasonably high expectations. I came to Surprise to visit my family and after a 4hr drive decided to try this place. When I entered the establishment I was not greeted by any of the people working the counter. I realize that some of them were occupied with customers while the others were stocking but I think it is always important to at least greet customers with a simple" Hi, someone will be right with you". After a few minutes, I was finally acknowledged, and ordered my food.
