I'm very unhappy with the way my visit went today, Mother's day and my grandmother's birthday, we were here from about 6-7:45pm, our waiter was superb, my order got a little messed up, but he was very nice and had it remade very quickly and he was polite the entire meal. We brought a cake for my grandmother, which the manager said was absolutely fine, when we asked for plates the entire stack was dirty and some plates still had what looked like mashed potatoes on them. We asked the Restaurant General Manager to come look at them and she let out a huge exasperated sigh, completely uncalled for. She apologized for the dishes and took them away, not offering new plates, she then completely dodged us every time someone had a question. We had four separate tickets at our table and two were paid while the other two finished collecting our left overs. She stood there watching us the entire time as if making sure we weren't stealing. When the last check went to be paid the same manager woman started yelling at our waiter, who again did nothing wrong, in front of the entire dining room. She yelled at him for not writing 1 out of 4, 2 out of 4 etc on the tickets, my mother got very upset that she was yelling at him in front of everyone and so she pointed out to the manager that it was already on the ticket in the format of 52-1,52-2 etc, which the manager agreed with. She then turned on my mother accusing us of stealing and claiming that not all of the tickets were paid. My mother was trying to explain that two were paid earlier and the manager would not listen and just kept saying she only had two out of four tickets and that we didn't pay, at this point my aunt went to her car and brought back in her receipt to prove she paid, which she shouldn't have had to do, there was no reason to accuse us of such a thing. We left and as we were sitting outside by our cars we seen her through the window yelling at the same waiter again in the dining room! I feel very bad for the employees here because with the way she treated customers, like we were an inconvenience, I can't imagine how poorly she treats her staff! I've worked in the food service industry, I personally prefer it to other professions, I know how stressful and exhausting it can be but never should you treat staff in such a way or accuse people of stealing simply because you won't listen to what they are telling you! I think this woman needs to find a new job or she should be fired, at the very least she needs to be disciplined for such awful behavior! I will not be returning to this location and I will be telling friends of this woman and her entitled mistreatment of both staff...
Read moreUpon entering there was a sign informing you of reduced staff and a plea for patience. We were fine with that. One of the worst things "Blue Collar" employers did was to start demanding resumes. I come from an era when stores and restaurants posted a help wanted sign and the owners had enough faith in the human race to give a person an opportunity to contribute to society. In my travels I've come across many servers who started out that way. I saw an adequate amount of workers. I didn't notice any outstanding ones. First of all, we were seated so close to the kitchen I could almost reach the grill. Then our server turned out to be a lot like "Hazel" from the old tv show. There was more talking than listening, and she was stubborn and argumentative. She brought out already poured cups of coffee which was delicious. The coffee in the carafe she left at the table was the color of honey. She had already forgotten the lemon we requested with our water. We'd already been waiting for our meals long enough to finish our generous sized coffees before we got her attention to complain about it. So we were shocked when she argued with us about the coffee being too light and weak. She adamantly refused to bring out more coffee and refused to bring a manager. The only reason we didn't leave before the meal was we'd had a super rough week and were too tired to go drive to another place. When the food arrived almost 40 minutes after ordering it was almost totally worth the wait. My limp bacon was pink so I couldn't eat that. The pancakes weren't much larger than crepes. The syrup was good quality, the eggs and waffles were cooked perfectly. The "country" potatoes were nothing more than chopped up potato skins, but tolerable. The sausage was small but savory. At one point we had a lady standing quite close and getting pretty agitated. It turns out, she had been waiting over 10 minutes to pay her check. The restaurant thought it would be a good idea to have each server ring you out. I'm not a fan of people handling both food and money. The poor woman, even after threatening to leave without paying, still had another 10 minutes before the server showed. (Hey, we were still sitiing there without coffee) I decided right then to just leave the money on the table. We'd only seen the server 4 times. I was not gonna wait half an hour to pay a check. The prices are rising; the servings are shrinking, and the waiting is ridiculous. I've been to other restaurants working with a skeleton staff and they did fine. They can and...
Read moreWe decided to celebrate my mother's birthday and Mother's Day here. It was a special one for all of us as we almost lost her 2 months ago. It was our first time here and I had heard good things so we decided to try it out. Man, the dissapointment! First off I want to say that our waiter, Ryan, was great! We were a party of 12 and he was very nice and professional. He didn't mess up any of our orders or our drinks, which was a good surprise considering how big our party was. And with a party that big we had requests every time he came by. We were all impressed! The food wasn't bad for the price either. Now to the reason for the 1 star. The customer service by the resteraunt manager and the cashier was beyond atrocious! The resteraunt manager was the one to seat us. When she let us know our table was ready she was very curt and unwelcoming. We were given plates that were extremely dirty and when brought to the manager's attention we were sighed at. However, we were given a free pie, not of our choice, for the inconvenience. One of our party had to leave before the rest of us so they went to pay but was ignored by the cashier. It wasnt until she said " would you like me to pay" that the cashier finally acknowledged her. I was the last to pay and as I was at the counter I over heard the manager make a comment that only 1 of our party had paid and was asking the cashier how many tickets there were for our table. I spoke up and told her 4. She acted like she didn't believe me because she kept asking over and over. Then finally brought the waiter over to "confirm" and when he repeated what I said she proceeded to reprimand him in front of us and other customers that he didn't write on the ticket 1 of 4, 2 of 4 and so on and that she has discussed this with him before because how is she supposed to know if all the tickets had been paid. At this point I am extremely upset because not only is she chewing the waiter out about whatever procedure publicly, she is implying that we were trying to run out on our tickets! When I looked down at the ticket I noticed that it said table 52/4. I asked her if that meant that there were 4 tickets to table 52 and she said yes! So if it says it right on the ticket, why was she making a scene about it?!?! I was not only appalled by the resteraunt manager's behavior but also extremely embarrassed with the implication and scene she made about the whole thing. Needless to say we will not be going back to that resteraunt. And if asked, I will not...
