"What-the-heck" moment here today. Google says closing time is 8:30. Get there at 6:00; see 2 tables occupied with at least 1 table with food not yet served; no one at the counter; rang a bell on the counter; after some time, a lady walks out from the back and makes a beeline for the store (they operate a store connected to the restaurant) and asks me what I plan to order while headed to the store; told her what I planned to order and she says I can't because they've run out of ingredients; no eye contact and disappears into the store; while I stand there dumbfounded by her attitude, another lady walks out from the kitchen and tells me she's out of ingredients for the dish I wanted; when I ask her if any other dishes are available, she apologizes and tells nothing's available because they've "put up everything". Asked her what time they close up and she says 8:00. At least this lady apologized, but what is it: run out of ingredients or put up all the food (while they were still busy cooking for both or either of the tables occupied)? Still trying to figure out what just happened. FYI, visited this place a few times before at a recommendation of a friend who is a Seventh Day Adventist who specifically pointed out that this place is owned by a fellow SDA, implying that the place is operated by ethical and upright people. Although it tasted a little greasy from the perilla seeds, it was still delicious. I ordered one of my favorite Korean foods, "acorn jelly," for takeout to eat it at home. If I come with someone next time, I want to order and try the tofu mushroom casserole which is for 2 not one. I'm curious about its taste... One disappointing thing was that the room temperature in the restaurant was set a little high, so it was hot inside. It was especially disappointing that it was hotter because I had a hot spicy food. Although the staff seemed very busy, I liked how they were friendly when I asked questions or requested some...

I ordered the fresh salad bibimbap, which was served with a self-service hot pepper paste that allowed me to adjust the spiciness to my liking. The bibimbap itself was incredibly fresh and healthy, and I really enjoyed the variety of side dishes that were served, including the delicious bean sprout soup.
Overall, I highly recommend Hajun Nongwon for anyone looking for authentic Korean dishes and exceptional service. The friendly greeting and peaceful atmosphere really set the tone for a great meal, and the bibimbap was a highlight of my dining experience. Don't miss out...
