Kung Fu Tea — Restaurant in Suwanee

I've been coming to this kung fu tea ever since it opened, but now i'll gladly drive 15-30 minutes to go to the Duluth location over this one. Let me just start by saying the regular staff here is sweet and have always been very friendly when I go. The supervisor/manager here is really bad at handling customer complaints and would not budge at all to give us a refund for our drinks or even get new drinks. We ordered the grapefruit yogurt & this is our go to order for the past several years. We both took a sip of the drink when we got home & we both thought that the drink had a weird musty, old dirty washcloth taste to it.

We are pretty sure either 1) the grapefruit was not washed properly or was sitting in a wet container or 2) there was condensation buildup and the container for the juice wasn't washed and dried properly. If it is one of these issues, it's definitely a food safety issue and should be inspected. For a normal person, it might not be a big deal, but if you're immunocompromised or have a GI disease like I do, fresh ingredients are important. I'm really hoping I do not get sick.

Communicating with the manager was a bit frustrating. She kept stating that it was store policy and that she could not offer refunds. She was very stubborn in the fact that she was not going to offer a refund. We asked if we drove back if she would let us switch the drinks out or make us a new same drink & she said she could not. She would not give us the owner's information or offer any type of way that we could get this situation resolved. I'm just so confused. Refunding or re-making 2 drinks is not going to cause this business to go bankrupt. I understand if we ordered incorrectly on our end, but this was a problem of quality or cleanliness.

I feel silly getting worked up about $14 drinks, but it's even sillier for a business not to work with their customers. Your business is only the way it is because of your customers. I'm only leaving a review because I already tried to resolve the problem by contacting directly. Just want to prevent others from having the same experience. Don't get their grapefruit drinks here if you insist on coming to this location!! 1/10 chances it's gonna taste like a dirty wash cloth :o)

Really really disappointed in the quality of the drinks and the way the manager handled our complaint. I already knew this location was one of the worse ones in the area, but we still decided to go because it was near our house. Will never be back again. We ordered two yogurt grapefruit drinks for $14 and they tasted like musty dirty wash rags (like a closed wet container that has accumulated sour condensation) to the point we decided to throw them out after taking one sip. We decided to call the store to ask for a refund or at least exchange the drink for another one, but the manager did an extremely poor job of handling our complaint. She constantly said the same thing over and over and didn’t try to even resolve the issue at hand. She just kept saying that it’s store policy to not refund drinks after they’re made. Does this policy apply even when there is a quality issue? That makes no sense whatsoever. We were the ones trying to ask for different options such as exchanging for a different drink or speaking with someone else who could help us better. Isn’t the manager’s job to resolve complaints that customers have? The drink itself left a bad taste in my mouth but the manager’s way of handling the issue made the taste...
