I've been here plenty of times during my downtime in between jobs. Historic Downtown Suwannee is one of the best historic downtown of Gwinnett. The only time I've come here was when I used to be an employee of Spherion at Avon Distribution Center 10 minutes down the street. I was only a minor then, & had limited transportation so I didn't have the means to explore Suwannee City of Gwinnett. It's amazing how great this place is. There are plenty of parks, dining, and family events all throughout the seasons of the year. This time I was here in the middle of the day so the city Hall was open. I am very disappointed in the city of Suwanee. Tuesday night January 21st I felt like an ice road trucker. Satellite rd, McGinnis ferry road, Old Peachtree road and Lawrenceville- Suwanee road were total ice rinks. I did not see one city or county vehicle on the road. You knew bad weather was coming. You should have been better prepared for it. I lived in Michigan a total of 25 years and I've never had such a traumatic experience in the snow and ice as I did last night. Well put together suburban town center. Lots of open spaces. Fountain for kids to run through. Plenty of shops, boutiques, restaurants, and other local businesses.
