I've been coming here since they first opened about 13yrs ago. I'm a true New Yorker so you know how hard it's to find great bagels down here. They have the most amazing staff who treats you like you're family and will even joke around with you. Especially the weekday workers. For the past couple years, all the cream cheese's and store made salads have become more flavorful. There's one guy who makes the most perfect New York style sandwiches. Their cookies are amazing and the fresh squeezed orange juice is to die for. I'm never disappointed in the products I receive. The only downfall recently is that they are no longer doing the Old Town dozen that all thier customers come for. I've personally heard the new owner getting upset when someone wants more than 12 bagels. He tells people we aren't allowed to buy more than a certain amount of one flavor bagel. He's also raised prices multiple times in the past year or so. Almost everything is now more than double the price it was when Matt, Terry, and Maria ran it. No wonder why they no longer have a line to the door on the weekends anymore. If it wasn't for the current staff, all the regular customers who keep this place open would go to thier competitors. He needs to wake up before he ends up losing more customers. The restaurant industry is not a get rich...
Read moreHorrible service. Completely out of everything. Asked for a bagel and they didn’t have it. I paid for a coffee. I wanted house blend. I asked for a non dark blend, the girl behind the counter had a major attitude and rolled her eyes at me because I was asking a question and she might possibly have to physically make more. Instead she whispered to another coworker who was nice but also told me the coffee isn’t actually “dark” its their house blend. It didn’t taste like coffee at all, it tasted like chemicals. The coffee counter was disgusting, spilled coffee everywhere dried up creamer. Sugar packets were stuck together from coffee being spilled into the bucket they were in. The 2 female co workers were just whispering about me, don’t care what they said, but it’s disrespectful. I’m a customer… I just don’t understand. All they were doing was talking about how much time left til they were closing. So rude saying that with customers in there. I’ll never go there again. Plenty of other places...
Read moreI’ve eaten here before and enjoyed the food. Unfortunately I will never be back again due to my experience today. We came around 11:20am and the woman seemed to be angry either that she had to be at work or that we were arriving at her job unfortunately. But that’s ok, my husband and I both work very hard and long hours and know how to deal with people. When we walked in, the woman with an attitude said what’s your order, my husband defaulted to hello how are you, “-good, what do you want” I wondered if us being there to spend money at her place of work was an inconvenience for her. I asked when they closed and she said 1pm, it was 11:20 so it would seem that wasn’t the issue. I asked if they had any egg bagels and she said no this is what we have and pointed to the display. I said you know what I’m not hungry and left with my husband to go to village bagels and spend $20 on 2 bagels instead. I suggest anyone else who isn’t ordering takeout or enjoys being spoken to in a disgusting matter...
