Wife and I heard good things about this place and decided to give it a try. Man was it busy! But totally worth the wait for a table. Tacos were absolutely delicious. Great waiter.
Since we loved it so much, we talked it up to a couple that we are friends with and got them to go with us for our second visit. Our waitress was terrible, literally the worst I have ever dealt with, and that’s not one bit of exaggeration. The food was delicious again, but to me, it doesn’t matter how good the food is if you have a horrible experience with your server clearly wanting to be elsewhere, it ruins your visit. We assured our friends that it was not like that on our first visit, that it was great. They said they would never come back had that been their first visit on their own.
I contacted the restaurant manager Lupe via email to let him know how Shalaya was behaving as a waitress at his restaurant and filled him in on all the details and that we would not return if we had to go through her again. I received a reply not long after. He apologized in extent for this and called me to have a personal one on one conversation rather than email. That was awesome service. I didn’t feel like our bad experience was just a quick apology and then brush me off like how some companies do. He really showed he cared and let me know she was pulled from serving the tables. He is outstanding at his job and I am very happy with how he handled the situation. He showed that he honestly cared that we enjoy our time there and he sent us a gift for us to enjoy on our next visit!
I am giving this five stars because putting one bad server aside, this place is five stars. I recommend the Lucy’s Fire taco.
We will be returning with family. Make sure to bring your family and friends here as well. You will love the food and...
Read moreIt was amazing. We needed somewhere to go because the place we headed for didn't work out. I had never seen it before nor even knew it existed and my partner noticed it as we went by it and said it looked really nice and not crowded so we we turned around and gave it a shot. Our server seemed new but the service was very good, fast, they were attentive and the food was really good. I know our server understood my order to leave the onions on the side but the kitchen probably messed it up. I probably could have said something but I didn't bother. It was still okay. The onion issue aside, the nachos were amazing. We went last night and my partner loved the guac. For me and my partner who are highly sensitive to gluten, they have many gf options and understand cross contamination with celiac and gluten allergies, you just have to tell them. When we walked in, they were completely understanding of us needing to look at the menu for dietary reasons for a few minutes before deciding if we could stay and try it out. Neither one of us got sick due to any contamination and the whole experience was awesome. We felt safe with the distance of the tables to be able to take our masks off as well. The outdoor seating is lovely and the lights are pretty. There's also fire heat lamp things which are cool too and when we asked for ours to be turned on, they found someone who could and they changed the tank so ours would work. Everyone was so nice and it was cozy, cute, not too loud and they played awesome music too. It was a very good way to end the night and make us feel great after the previous disappointment and chaos. We just loved everything about it! Thank you for being awesome. We'll probably be back soon for an...
Read moreSo the waitlist I'm not a fan of need to take reservations. We didn't wait long as I joined wait list an hour before. Would of preferred to sit at the bar instead got sat at a six top. That said.....my food was amazing. As a cook for 21 and a chef for 4 years it's hard to be impressed. I was so impressed by the food super tasty got two of the double decker shells with chirzo and queso. One with chirzo eggs and mango habanro sauce the other with tequila lime steak pepper jack and smoked cheddar with a side of dirty sauce. That dirty sauce is so good not for the weak. This was after app of chips and house made chirzo. So good. Here's were it went wrong. 32 dollars for a pitcher of sangria and it was the hands down worse sangria I've ever had it was literally a pitcher of red wine. It was bitter no fruit in it and when asked was told they use puree? (that is no sangria) terrible. None of the flavors listed were present after waiting three weeks to try and on date night was severely disappointed especially at the price as it was half of my bill. No manager table touch not once. Server was nice but a lil over zealous as wanting us to order our food as we just received our app.. I'll come back for the food but as far as the drinks I'll pass 77 dollars I expected more. Kitchens on point get you bar up to speed. Plus server didn't even know you had pitchers of sangria and we wanted white not red but you were out. Two people and the sangria had left us unsatisfied so we went elsewhere from drinks. 32 dollars a pitcher I could of skipped mediocrity. Definitely a cool spot and a great...
