STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! Would give 0 stars if I could! Was treated rudely the moment I walked thru the door. Wasn’t greeted at all. When I asked if they had curry, she replied with a condescending yes and started to give me a togo menu. (Guess she assumed I couldn’t afford to dine in based on the way I was dressed). Told her I’d be dining in and needed a table for 3. Instead of replying or taking me to a table, she was condescending yet again with her hand gesture as if she was saying “then seat yourself.” As we began ordering our food, I asked if they served any bread for the curry. Now a simple no would’ve sufficed but instead I got yet another rude condescending response: “No, this is a Thai restaurant”. I was livid at that point and told her to cancel the curry. Didnt speak to her the rest of our visit. At this point, my fiancé is waiting on his food to be served and my 4 y/o daughter is snacking on her McDonald’s we brought in for her (which we’ve never had a problem at any restaurant doing so). Mind you, she’s 4. She doesn’t eat Thai food mainly bc of its spiciness and flavors. Once the bill came, i noticed it was a bit pricy (nearly $30) for just one entree and one appetizer! Skimmed to the bottom of the receipt and the conniving waitress she was slapped an 18% gratuity charge on our bill for a table of 2 guests eating!!! Ridiculous, right?! I know, my same thoughts as well! My fiancé proceeded to ask about the charge at the front desk thinking it must’ve been some mistake or some Washington law we didn’t know about but low and behold the charge was for us bringing in outside food and drink for our FOUR YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. He righteously argued that it was wrong of them to charge a fee without our knowledge or sign stating their policies. She then points to a tiny printed sign on their front desk that said “no outside food or drink”. But that was all the sign said. Nothing about an 18% gratuity charge if we did. Not saying we saw the sign to begin with because we never did until she pointed it out to us. Either way, her doing so was wrong, unethical, and unprofessional. A decent server would’ve said something about our daughters food the moment we walked in or sat down but instead they wanted to be slick about it and hustle us out of a tip/fee. Nonetheless, my fiancé stated how ridiculous it was and that we’d never be back on top of leaving a bad review. She replied, “that’s fine, don’t worry” as if she never cared for our business anyway. Well guess what “Nong” and to whomever gave her the okay to slap that gratuity charge on us, it will be okay. For us. Coming from someone whose family owns multiple restaurants themselves as well, I know damn well restaurants are nothing without customers and good feedback. So congratulations! You lost 2 customers on top of future customers because of your petty charge and non-disclosed policy! There are tons of better and authentic Thai restaurants we can dine at that will treat us with respect and courtesy. You on the other hand have been thru multiple owners, name changes, and more bad reviews than good so I suggest your restaurant work on their customer service skills and how they treat their customers if they want to stay in business and be successful because when we walked thru your doors, the place was completely empty. We only sat down because we felt sorry for you guys but now I see why no one would even want to eat there. All in all, terrible customer service and like my fiancé stated, we will never be back to any of your locations which is fine because you will single handedly run this place into the ground alone with the amount of disrespect given. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a new owner/name change...
Read moreI used to like this place, but this place isn’t good. I wanted to vomit today after eating. Nor is this place authentic. I like the atmosphere, but if you want better quality and real authentic flavors, try out Loak Toung Thai. Seriously, best Thai food in Tacoma hands down. Hole in the wall. Sadly they’re closed until Feb.
I ordered the Thai Chili Beef with sticky rice on the side. It looked nothing like the photo on their menu. The menu photo shows a very dark sauce similar to chocolate, and the beef looked extremely tender and juicy and covered in sauce top to bottom. The consistency also looked thicker, The meal I receive was way over cooked. The beef was so dry I couldn’t eat it. It was disgusting. The soup today, the one they serve for free, was also disgusting. They put sweet chili Thai sauce in it 🤦♀️ It was weird tasting and the flavors didn’t seem to blend well. Last but not least, the sticky rice. The stick rice was gross. Lots of hard spots where it was inedible. This isn’t real sticky rice. Idk what kind of rice they try and sell as sticky rice, but I can tell you that, that ain’t it.
Sticky rice doesn’t actually stick to your fingers. It’s a finger food. It sticks together. To cook sticky rice properly, you need a glutinous rice and it needs to be soaked for several hours and then steamed. It’s delicious. They’re also not the only Thai restaurant that does this, but if you’re gonna pay $4 for it, make your own. It’s very easy and don’t use google for instructions because they have incorrect information about it. As far as the server, she was nice. She took the order and served my food. No check-in in between.
There’s way better Thai restaurants in Tacoma with the same price point. If you want real thai food, I highly recommend anywhere else lol. Not sure why they think their food is authentic. I can get everything they serve here at any other Thai restaurant besides their signature Thai Chili Beef dish.

Read more0 stars is in order Upon entering we were told to choose seating. There were only 2 other tables occupied and already eating. After 15 minutes we had to flag the waiter to place an order. My dish was nasty (chili thai noodles) and the hard boiled eggs had green yolks, I was assured the eggs were fresh and supposed to look like that...wth! The menu said prawns I guess 2 is plural. It was sent back for yellow curry which was great but now my tummy is hurting from tasting to previous dish. I had it bagged to go, I also had a take home order prepared for my husband. It was brought along with the bill. When the waiter returned to collect the payment folders I quietly pointed to a ROACH that was crawling on the seatback forcing my friend to scoot closer to the window. The waiter collected the money and left saying I'm so sorry about that. He left the ROACH so I could take picture to share. We waited for him to return and take care of this situation to no avail. My friend was trapped in the booth. Without making a scene I went over to the register and asked the waiter why did he just leave the ROACH there and take our money. I said you should offer some type of discount. I went back to the booth and he still never followed me to eliminate the ROACH. I knocked the ROACH to the floor. The waiter finally came dropped the payment folders on the table and said I uncharged you credit cards you dont have to pay. Oh ok great! Then the manager came and grabbed up the bags of food and pointed us to the door while telling us we dont have to pay. Good night. We never made it known to the other guests what was happening, but I guess she thought that we would and was kicking us out before we did. I will never eat there again, I can only imagine what the kitchen must be...
