This was easily the worst experience at a restaurant I've ever had. I want to preface this by noting that it was fairly busy and there was only 2 bartenders working (1 was cut shortly after we arrived).

A few friends and I came in after a show last night and snagged a table, figuring out our order before heading to the bar to order. My friends do the ordering and I just wait at the table. We found it strange that we were told that they weren't running one of their Tuesday night specials that night, but we just rolled with it. There were a few pieces of food that came out promptly- burger, mozzarella sticks and another side of fries. So far so good. And that's where the good about ends.

That burger that came out was yelled out from the bar when we were right behind the food service window (Not the best but I get it). All the food came out within 20 minutes of us ordering and we hadn't gotten the two sprites we ordered. Noting that the bartender was busy (But not too busy to take a shot with some customers), we decided to ask about it when ordering something else. One of the members in our group asks about it and he leaves to grab them before letting my friend finish what she was ordering, which included another sprite. She was then told "You couldn't have told me that before?" while begrudgingly pouring another sprite.

It got downright horrid when we saw our second round of food come up in the window- to which the bartender walked over, picked up the ticket for it, and then walked away. Let me remind you that we're sitting not more than 10 feet away from this service window. We then proceeded to wait another 10 minutes of him walking up to the food and walking away before we finally asked if we could have the food we have watched him intentionally neglect twice. He told us that the food would come out when it comes out. Then the bartender that was cut actually got up, looking to drop the food off and was told by the working bartender that he had it...and then walked away again! So when he went up a 4th time, my girlfriend just straight up asked if we could have it cause we've watched this transpire. He yelled at her, saying she had an attitude and "What the f--- do you want? You want this f---ing food?" and then slammed our food on the table.

Oh and I almost forgot. One of us ordered mozzarella sticks FROM THE FIRST TIME WE ORDERED and was served cold hard, breaded cheese sticks after it was left in the window for around 40 minutes.

Too long, didn't read: service was beyond terrible and didn't try to mask it. If you just want a drink, go to Odd Otter across the street- where the beer is great and the service is...

First off, I have been to the other Meconi's in Hawks Prairie and Lacey and have never had a bad experience there. My son and I were excited to go here because we like the other locations so much. I got the meatball sub; my son got the chicken parm sub. We decided to split the sandwiches because we each said we were thinking about the others when we ordered. While the sandwiches weren't bad, they weren't that great. Neither of us will get them again. The meatball sub was ok; it appears the meatballs are made from scratch which was baffling because the chicken parm sub looks like it was made from chicken tenders. That was disappointing because the menu said cutlet. Although tenders are technically cutlets, I was expecting a breaded chicken breast. Neither of us were particularly in love with the tomato sauce on the sandwiches, it was a little too rustic for us with large chunks of tomato. The fries were good. It looked like the oil was fresh and they were nice and crispy. I liked our server, I'm sorry I forgot her name. She was informative when it came to the beer selection, but was a little slow when we first arrived. Overall, it was disappointing because I had such high expectations from Meconi's brand. I may go there again, I just won't order...

That was literally the worst pub I had ever set foot in!

The fact that it was dead on a Saturday night was one thing, but the service from the staff was arguably the most ignorant I had ever seen!

For example, one bartender served me my beer, fair enough. But her and the other bartenders were talking to the patrons sitting next to me (whom I found to be snobby), and whom together all appeared to be a group of friends. That is also fair enough, except that was literally all they did! Not one of the staff came by to check in on me and say things like "how's that beer tasting?" etc. She only asked if I wanted another beer, which I can't believe I said yes to. In summary, I felt like I was in high school again, and the invisible person in the room. I felt that ignored.

Furthermore, when it came to my bill, I had to ask a different bartender for it all because the first one was so busy talking to those same friends. And, she didn't even acknowledge my departure nevermind not say things like "have a good night," she was that distracted. The tip I gave her was a BIG FAT $0.00 one.

In summary, that was the most cliquey and ignorant bar I had ever entered, and I can't ever be...

I ended up here twice in one night. I had been nearby and needed food, this place was recommended by the staff where I was. It was early evening, mostly empty with the staff prepping for the night ahead and people setting up the back room for a party. Fish and Chips were as expected for bar food and hit the spot. When we came back later we had more of the food from the menu and everything tasted great. Staff is friendly and quick to fill an empty glass.

TL:DR - A wonderful stop with history. Take the time and help them open earlier post pandemic. A good friend of mine took me here nearly ten years ago. It is the same and it is still worthwhile. Good sandwiches and good prices. Good atmosphere and good people. Give it the time if you hate corporate nonsense like Steel Creek.

This place is tucked away at the end of the strip, probably best for only drinks. It was not busy compared the the rest of the area during a Saturday night, I now we can see why. The food was average, not bad but just average. Cafeteria food at best. Someone mentioned the beef dip being a disappointment and they were right.
