I'm sad to say, it just isn't my cup of tea anymore. There's been a big shift in the menu. No more mac and cheese, toasted cheese sandwich, grilled Brussels, etc. Now the menu is focused on burgers, fried foods and food with heat. There are many who love such things, but not me. Had spinach salad with feta, the dressing had too much vinegar, it lacked balance ( needs herbs, flavorful oil, garlic maybe). Though veges were very fresh. Others had a Ceasar salad, said it was pretty good. I had wings, the flavor was good, dipping sauce balanced, but 14 for about 7 wings. Another had spicy fried chicken sandwich. She found the heat overpowered the other flavors. Needs more tart pickles and maybe a creamy sauce. The garlic aoli on the bun was excellent on its own but completely overpowered by the deep fried chili oil soaked chicken breast. Burger was good. Not amazing. I still love the setting. The people are wonderful, but the food just doesn't hold up for us. Drinks are dependable, normal price. Will try again if...
Read moreThey just opened in July and when I asked what type of restaurant it was, they said that they were "just having fun with it". Apparently the recent "theme" was Lunar New Year, complete with a "Lunar New Year Menu" and videos of random clips from Chinese films which all just bordered on cultural appropriation. Previous reviews showed various food items, such as burgers and mac and cheese, but this menu had egg rolls, orange chicken, fried rice, etc. I ordered the General Tso Chicken, which was good, but cold in some parts. I ordered fried rice with no meat/tofu, and it was very bland, with celery, which I thought was odd. My friend ordered fried rice with chicken, which was also fried, and it had no flavor and there were also egg shells in it. My chicken came with a side of white rice and I was unable to substitute it for fried rice, so I ordered the fried rice separately. I didn't eat any of the fried rice. All together, what I ordered was about $30 and not...
Read moreFun, casual bar serving well-made popular & simple dishes. The new menu just came out and features things like Fish Tacos, Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, a couple of salads & burgers. The Fried Food game is strong here - you can get appetizer plates of excellent French Fries, and you can get Bacon as an app. Vegetrarians - they have Impossible versions of several items - the burgers, but also the meatball sandwich. Very Nice! Drinks are solid - with a great mix of cocktails, like a Manhattan featuring Buffalo Trace - or get a WWJMD, i think that's what it's called - either way, I love it - a double shot of your choice of well drink & a Heidelberg can. These things are for me! They also have several beers on tap for those who do not live the can & bottle life. Deceptively Huge space - plenty of seating early in the day. There is a small front section & then a big space...
