I used to love Popeyes. One of my first jobs as a teenager was at Popeyes in Federal Way. That was so long ago that they still had a smoking section. I still love everything I miss about it, but they’ve really gone down hill. It seems anytime I go to Popeyes, which I’ve had to twist my own arm to do because of how bad it’s gotten, my experience is less than satisfying. This goes for all of the locations I’ve visited in the past several years, but this particular store on 6th is the worst! The parking lot is full of garbage, the store is rarely clean inside, the employees are less than pleasant and clearly don’t want to be there, and they NEVER get my order right!
Considering I pay over $70 to feed my family whenever I go, it’s always a huge disappointment. I’m always missing items, getting white instead of dark, or just flat out getting the wrong order altogether. They never answer the phone, and when they do it’s like pulling teeth to get them to make it right. Last time I went, I had extra guests staying with us, and they really screwed up my order big time. Several guests cannot eat spicy food, and they gave me all spicy instead of the half and half I ordered, and confirmed with them when picking it up. They also forgot 2 of the 4 large sides, our fries, and most of our biscuits. We ordered 12 bisxuits (2 boxes of 6), and got 1 box of 5, not even enough for everyone to have 1. Oh, and I forgot to mention that I’d ordered in the app and was given a time to ick up, only to find that they hadn’t even started my order when I got there 25 minutes after ordering. I had to wait another 30 minutes for our order! I went and sat down and waited impatiently, having young kids and elderly relatives waiting on me for dinner. As you could imagine, I was incredibly displeased when I got home to my family and guests anticipating finally being fed, only to find out most of them couldn’t eat.
After several phone calls, including to corporate, I eventually got someone to give me some credit. I think I actually had to request it in their app. They gave me partial credit for some of my order, despite most of the people I ordered for not being able to eat anything because of the lack of mild chicken and forgotten sides. My wife had to scrape together a haphazard meal from the cupboards and fridge because we didn’t have time to wait for them to fix it and needed to get kids, and ourselves, to bed for early morning plans.
On top of that, they gave me the credit via points in their app. Well, because I rarely get up the nerve to try the. again, despite my cravings for what Popeyes used to be, when I decided to give them another shot and redeem my compensation for their last screw up, I discovered that my points had expired! At this point, I’m really not sure I’ll ever even attempt to enjoy what used to be my favorite fried chicken. It may just remain a nostalgic memory of my youth, when I knew I’d get what I ordered and it would be perfectly cooked and oh so satisfying. It’s just not worth it anymore, unfortunately.
Unfortunately, I simply cannot recommend Popeyes Chicken to anyone anymore after so many terrible experiences, and especially this 6th Ave location. It really does pain me to leave a negative review, but I’d being a disservice...
Read moreI like Popeye's, it's a pretty decent fast-food chicken restaurant. I wouldn't say "Popeye's Chicken is the shizknit!", like they do it the movie "Little Nicky". Idk, maybe I'm wrong and I'm just being a hater. Popeye's was super hyped up for me. One of my best friends used to go down to Louisiana all the time cause his family owned a Perique tobacco plantation and he would help out during harvest and come back with a bunch of tobacco and money. lol We'd get cigarette tubes and take the tobacco and roll up thousands of cigarettes with this cigarette rolling machine that would roll like 500 cigarettes at one time (which was pretty badass it could add flavoring to the flitters if we wanted it to, so we'd have like cherry, vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, and cinnamon flavored cigarettes. lol). Then we'd sell them at school and transite centers for like $3-$4 a pack and $.50 for singles. lol Good times man, good times times... 💯🤣 Oh, my bad, I got sidetracked. 🤣 My buddy used to tell me how 🔥 Popeye's was and that he'd get it atleast once a day or every other day (there was a BBQ place down there that he said had the best BBQ he had ever had and that he'd ALWAYS stop there first, then the drivethur liquor store and get 44oz slushies with a bunch of different liquors and flavors in it before going to the Plantation. 😝 I can't remember what he said the place is called though, but sometimes he'd stop there before he came home and even like 8hrs-10hrs after itnwas cooked the ribs would just melt it your mouth, didn't even really have to chew. Aw man so 🔥! 💯😅), and we liked the same exact kind of foods and what not, so I was beyond excited to try Popeye's. 💯 So, when Popeye's finally made it's way up here I went during the grand opening week, and can't even remember what I got, but my buddy told me what to get, and I was HIGHLY disappointed. 🥺 The fries were kind of soggy and luke warm, the biscuit was almost hard and when I went to cut it, it just started breaking apart, the chicken was a little chewy like it had been made that morning and sat under a hotlight all day, the mashed potatoes were good, but they weren't fresh ya know, so I think it getting hyped up like that for most of my life at the time of trying it and it being in "Little Nicky" (And if you're old enough to remember when "Little Nicky" came out and how big it got, then you know what I'm talking about! Iykyk 💯) just ruined it for me almost permanently. It's definitely better now than what it was. I like their chicken sandwiches, even though they're just plain Jane and theres nothing really special to them, ya know? Don't take this as a knock to Popeye's, they do have good food, I just expected more, and the disappointment of it ruined my experience(s). So, if you haven't tried it check it out, seriously. I wish with these ratings we could give out half ⭐️s cause then I'd five it 3.5 ⭐️s, but since there isn't an option for that, it's...
Read moreI placed a mobile order and picked it up in the drive-thru. One of the items in my mobile order was one of the new chicken wraps, which comes with lettuce inside. After waiting for quite some time with no explanation as to why the long wait, my order was handed to me, I thanked the worker(s) and I drove off. After getting halfway back to my destination, I took a peek at my food (yes, I probably should have checked before I drove off) and discovered that my wrap was sloppily put together, and missing the lettuce. Which is one of the only ingredients in the wrap besides chicken. I reluctantly turned around and went back to the drive-thru of this Popeyes, and at the ordering speaker I politely explained to the person working that I had just picked up my order and my wrap was missing lettuce. There was a moment of silence, and a different person got over the speaker and told me that they were out of lettuce and that's why my wrap didn't have any. I again politely responded that nobody had explained this to me, and the response was "well, you placed a mobile order.". My response afterwards was again politely, "I wish somebody would have told me when they handed me my order, so I wouldn't have had to drive all the way back here.". More silence. No apology, no attempt to make the situation any better or make up for the missing lettuce ... Nothing. Absolutely terrible customer service. If you run this establishment, you probably need to put your employees through another round of customer service training. I work in customer service, and I understand it can be hard to deal with customers all day long... But when you have someone politely trying to get an error resolved, the correct response would be to provide better customer service. Sadly, I most likely will not be coming back here due to...
