We were so excited to hear Sonic was coming to Tacoma! Finally got a chance to go but was so disappointed!! The service and food were equally deplorable - like, unbelievably bad. We chalked the experience up to new store/staff, etc and maybe another time would be better. That was when the store 1st opened in maybe 2010 or '11? Ran errands all day today and decided it'd be a good evening to stop in and grab a quick bite. Hot dogs, to be exact. Ok: trying to order over the speaker was a challenge at best. Connection kept slipping in and out which I thought would prompt the employee to either "call us back" or give up and come to our vehicle. Nope, she didn't. We reestablished connection each time until our 2 hotdog combo orders w/drinks was complete. I got the NY dog which was cold; the bun was so saturated w/sauerkraut juice that I couldn't pick it up. The fries were undercooked; cold and mealy. This food is not good, at all, and I'm not being picky - I'll eat at McD's so fast food is not the issue. The issue is the staff is untrained and the food is not actually "prepared", if that makes sense. We ordered 2 fruit slushees - he pineapple, me strawberry. Have you ever tried to suck a whole strawberry thru a straw? Not happening. 5 seconds with a blender may have made it, at least, palatable. We won't go back. There's always a handful of cars at this place. I'm starting to think they allow employees to park in the customer spots so as to appear busy. And therefore successful. Not falling for it again. Read moreIf it wasn't because of this being the only location closest to me, I go here and EVERYTIME my stuff is wrong. Why? I ordered 3 corn dogs on the Monday promo day along with just the garlic bacon burger, 2 slushies and a Dr. pepper. Do you know I waited from 7:08pm until 7:35pm and maybe even later because that was just when someone came to my window asking what was I waiting for? I was appalled and livid. It didn't help how rude the black girl was either, no apology and no way of trying to make it right . Just gave me my stuff and closed the window. Disrespectful as ever but tbh after just getting off work and having a hungry kid then I just said eff it. But I wanted to argue and get my refund back so fast. Because this is the only convenient location it really is frustrating that they can't ever get orders correctly. They are such in a rush to get people out of the drive thru. I've emailed about this issue in the past and didn't get a response from anyone, just a free reward in the app. I don't want a free reward because obviously I can pay for my food. What I'd like is a correct order/ good customer service since I am paying with my hard earned money. Retrain those kids and get better management. I should never see employees smoking joints in front of the establishment, that's ghetto. The shift lead or whoever the black girl was looked like a push over like she couldn't handle her own team and control...

But I've had so many issues with this sonic, over and over and I'm not the type of person who complains about a wrong order but this place is ripping off the customers - which justifies a bad review. Our most recent order, we had a strawberry shake and a breakfast burrito. The strawberry shake was basically a vanilla. There was the TINIEST amount of strawberry, I mean if you cut a single strawberry in 1/4, that 1/4 of a single strawberry is about what was used in the entire shake. You quite literally couldn't even taste any strawberry, you'd just see like the tiniest little flakes of strawberry - the shake was completely white. A strawberry shake is usually pink, because of the strawberry. Then the breakfast burrito there was quite literally no sausage, none, I literally could not find a single piece of sausage but a bunch of jalapeno. And this isn't the first time this has happened. At first I thought maybe it was an accident, but now there's really no denying it. They are ripping people off by giving as little possible of certain ingredients and just pass it off as negligence when it's almost definitely malice and done to rip off the consumer.
Don't support them, they have absolutely no issues...
