CAVA — Restaurant in Tallahassee

I finally got over to Cava. When I was asked what I would like to have? My eyes were locked on the steak. Only because I have never been there and I wanted to be safe. Sorry, we are out of steak. So I let the workers choose for me. I mean, who else would know all the flavors and what a first-timer would appreciate. The suggestion I accepted was Lamb meatballs. Skeptical, but I always say, as long as there are no anchovies, I'm good. When I got home, I dumped it in my serving bowl and mixed it up. I apologize for not taking a picture of the product in their container. This is the mixed version, and I asked for extra beans if you're wondering if the beans were overkill. There were so many wonderful new flavors, and I have to say. The workers knocked it out of the park for me. The lamb meatballs were cooked perfectly. How would I know? Listen, I grew up in an Italian neighborhood where meataballs and gravy was an every Sunday event while watching the Buffalo Bills after church. So, yes!! You guys did very well, and Cava will be included in my, "Where am I going to eat today?" question. Ordered a pick up order around 4pm, it was super busy so I waited for around 20 minutes for my pick up order to be put out on the shelf, but it never was. I had to go up to the register and ask about my order, which was just sitting on the table behind the register, this wasn’t the biggest deal, however after waiting, when I got home one of the bowls I ordered had completely raw black lentils in it. They were 100% uncooked, which is not only inedible but dangerous as they are toxic if consumed raw. When I called regarding this the person on the phone knew exactly what order had the raw lentils, and said it would be another 40 minutes til there were cooked lentils, and we couldn’t do anything to fix the problem unless we drove all the way back to the restaurant. And it was almost like the person on the phone knew that they put raw lentils in, as he knew exactly what order I was talking about before even explaining…. Regardless this was such an unpleasant experience, the food that was edible was really good so maybe try the other location if you want to try...

This was our first time at Cava and we were so excited to try their food and drinks! The place is cute, very modern. There was no line so we placed our orders and customized our bowls. Purchased two drinks and when we went to fill them up, there was no ice, no cucumber mint and no pineapple drink. And those were the only drinks we wanted to try! We asked the employee and he asked a girl that seemed like she was the shift lead and she just said no we don’t have anymore. Not “sorry”, not “let me give you your money back for the two cups you just paid for”, nothing. She looked like she could care less. The line was now long so we weren’t going to stand in like to get money back from two drinks. More people gathered at the ice machine and were asking for ice but no one filled it up. This was at 9 pm so an hour from closing, there should still be ice available. So good food and cute place, but employees can really make or break the place and they definitely broke it this time during our first experience. Won’t be back at...
