The food here is good. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars was my terrible online ordering experience. I was dead tired after being awake since 4 am, so on my way home I thought I would order online so I could save time and eat at my apartment. I was put off by how ordering online cost a dollar to do even though I was picking up the food myself, but I was too tired to argue and ordered. The food I ordered was not a family's worth of food. It was a main dish, some mozzarella sticks, and some churros. And yet it took me AN HOUR to get the food. I drove to the restaurant and waited in my car for ten minutes before going inside and had to wait another forty minutes. The entire time there were so many groups of 4, 5, even 6 people being sat at tables and having no problem as I waited another 40 minutes in seating that wasn't even comfortable because it was straight up brick. I was trying not to fall asleep and also keep my phone from dying because I did not plan to be gone another whole hour. At one point I asked a waitress if the online orders usually take longer to receive than had I just ate at the restaurant. She said it was because the management fired a bunch of employees to save costs. I felt for the employees hearing that and continued to try to be patient. Eventually I got my food and brought it to my car. The plastic bag was tied in a way that I couldn't untie it to check the food without ripping the bag apart. At this point I was still willing to give five stars because I understood that employees had been laid off. Then I saw that the food they gave me wasn't how I ordered it. And at that point I was so exhausted and done sitting on those uncomfortable bricks that I refused to go through the ordeal of waiting forever for my food to be fixed, so I just drove home with the food they gave me. Then when trying to bring the food into my apartment, it was nearly impossible because I'd had to rip apart the plastic bag to check the food before leaving the restaurant. I nearly dropped the containers and was just done with everything at that point. I've only tasted the mozzarella sticks so far because I'm too exhausted to even eat now, and they don't taste that fresh anymore because the food was sitting for so long. When I had first walked into the restaurant, they told me only the quesadillas were done, and then I finally got my food forty whole minutes later. So obviously it was not going to be that fresh anymore. I paid extra money to sit for an hour when I could have eaten at the restaurant, gotten my food way sooner, been waited on, and would have had endless chips and salsa for what would have probably been a five dollar tip. I'm frustrated because not paying attention to the instructions I wrote for my order and then making the bag impossible to open were the faults of employees, but everything else I blame on the people who own this place being cheap and firing employees to save money. And even then, it's hard to blame the employees for the food messup because they were apparently swamped due to the choices made by management. So I guess don't order online is the take away (pun) from...
Read moreNever going to the North Monroe El Jalisco's again! My group of 3 waited 30+ minutes before we even received contact from a waitress (one of us started a timer on our phone). The wait staff and management continuously walked by us, making eye contact, and took over 30 minutes to even place a drink order. The restaurant was not busy at all. The wait staff all grouped together at the door with the manager, pointed at our table for at least 30 seconds while laughing, then walked inside once I made eye contact with them. Our waitress finally made her way over to our table, never ONCE apologizing for the wait, and was rude the entire night. When we placed our order, my girlfriend very specifically stated that she wanted her drink made with rum as opposed to tequila. The waitress informed her that there was a dollar extra charge for this request (which we've never been charged for before at this establishment), but we were fine paying the extra charge. She was the only one who ordered a drink, and they brought her a watered down "frozen" drink, made with tequila that had been sitting at the bar area for 10 minutes before it was brought to the table. After tasting it, we told her we didn't want it. We decided as a group we were fed up with the place and wanted to leave, so I let the girls head to the car while I stayed behind to talk to the manager. Well, the manager, unbeknownst to me, followed the girls out the side door to the parking lot as if they were stealing something from the store and I tracked down the waitress to inform her of our decision. As I was talking to the waitress, the manager came back in, walked backwards into me, then elbowed my side and continued walking without apologizing. The manager refused to acknowledge myself or the waitress trying to explain the situation to him. After walking back and forth from the kitchen, he finally showed his face, told the waitress to tend her tables, and dismissively waved me away without saying a word to me. Horrible service, and even...
Read moreWent there for dinner tonight with friends who are weekly regulars who live in town. Although I’m from out of town, we visit every time I come in. We usually love it there, especially the desserts.
After waiting over 30 minutes for a table, we had terrible service. We didn’t think much of it because we understood they were understaffed. Our food was even delivered by the manager who claimed the tortillas for my friends fajitas were almost out. 15 mins later, we are all almost done with our food when we remind our server that she didn’t get the tortillas for her fajitas yet. Still took about another 15 minutes to get them to the table after I had to go get up and seek them out. The rest of us had already finished our meals entirely and the fajitas were cold at this point.
I asked to speak to the manager to get the plate comped as the tortillas were brought out extremely late, 30+ mins after getting the fajitas and they were cold by now/we all already ate. Not to mention we were going to dinner for my friends birthday and this was her plate. I told this all I to him respectfully, and even stressed how we are regulars. He only offered 50% off of the plate. I still thought that was unacceptable for their mistake so I kept reiterating but no budging.
Thus, I am writing this review as I promised him I would. They lost loyal customers, which I wrote on the receipt.
We did not order any desserts because of this, which we normally order 4 of. All this because they chose to save $7 on one plate instead of putting the customers first over their own mistake. Not only that but it was her birthday and not even an offer of a free dessert for all the hassle which Most restaurants do for birthdays regardless. Giant slap in the face to loyal customers who have been going there for years.
Nice to see this is how they treat...
