REVIEW UPDATE 6/16/18: OG subs is GREAT on large orders. Today, we made an order for about 35 subs for my job. The manager/owner was very friendly and helpful and even cut us a deal for making a bulk order. We emailed him all of the specifics the night before and he even went in early to ensure they were prepared on time. The subs were just as good and fresh. Each order was appropriately paper wrapped and taped with our names on them! The oil and vinegar was placed on the side as not to get the bread soggy and we got plenty for our group. These special touches makes them a great options for group orders. We will definitely order again.
ORIGINAL REVIEW 3/30/18: Where oh where do I begin?? This is definitely the BEST place to get a sub in Tallahassee. If this place keeps doing all of the right things, they are going to have locations all over. I am quite saddened that it is "hidden" in the middle of the FSU area....so people who don't frequent the college areas may be hesitant to make the drive. However, I would drive across town to get one of their subs before even using a free gift card from Subway!
The subs are open faced subs that have enormous layers of hand cut meat both on the top and the bottom. If you don't want that much meat, ask for "light meat" but do realize this is an outstanding offer and something that sets them apart from other sub shops. Next, don't sleep on the sweet and hot peppers because this is what sets the sub off. They aren't too spicy at all....so don't fret. I got the turkey and provolone and a small filled me up. I am certain that two people could split a regular. The service is fast and friendly and they even have loyalty cards!
What I also love is that they have extended hours and definitely a great addition to late night spots in Tally.
They also do catering...
Read moreBelow is from an earlier delivery order. I really wanted to give them 5 stars because of awesome customer service this time, and I might still order cold subs from them based on prior experience, but the food tonight was not good overall. First, the good: The banana pudding was great. The meatballs in the meatball sub were great. The cold cut sub was well worth the price as far as generous portions of very good meats and cheese. The bad: The "og" pizza sub had only sauce and cheese, with no oregano, hot pepper flakes, or parmesan anywhere as described or pictured and my son, who loves French bread pizzas, said that it was "generic" and that he wouldn't order it again. I tried it and didn't want more than one bite. The sauce on that and the meatball sub was disgustingly sweet. The cold sub had absolutely no vinegar flavor and the amount of mustard was not detectable in the flavor even though visible, barely. The "brownies" were too-sweet chocolate cake with too much too-sweet frosting. The cookie and cream stuff was grossly sweet.
We got the Italian Special and the OOG one with the listed toppings, and a pickle. Very tasty, with good ingredients, ratios, and portions (8" was like a whole Publix sub if not more and better quality), but meh roll that was maybe underbaked, as it was sort of soft and doughy. I really liked whatever the spicy zing was and that the sweet peppers didn't make it too sweet. Pickle was very unremarkable and I wish they had real half/full sour pickles. Overall though, it's in my top two Tallahassee sub places for cold cut subs and I am very interested in trying their hot subs when their oven is...
Read moreWIsh I could give this place 0 stars. This used to be my go to spot in Tallahassee and I introduced tens of people to the place. Years later, I decided to stop in town just to get a sub while on a trip. I quickly found out that the lobby was closed although this was not advertised online. I would have ordered online, but I wanted to order in person since it was a major throwback. I was not allowed to go in, although there were a couple of customers already inside, so I'm not sure if these were just friends of the sandwich maker. Anyways, I was told to wait outside. It was raining and it was hot and I was tired from driving for 8+ hours, but I tried to stay positive. When I finally got my sub, I asked if I could use the restroom real quick. She said no and went back inside. I got really confused. Did something awful happen in Tallahassee in the last years that businesses are scared to even have customers in?? I felt like a criminal on the loose rather than a hungry/tired customer. Might as well rename this place to OJ Subs. Really wish I could give it 0 stars for ruining so many good memories for me. Never again. Sandwich was alright, but the appetite was...
