I’ll start this review by saying that I used to work in the service industry, so I have an insider’s perspective and am very forgiving of most mistakes a restaurant may make. However, at Mr. Roboto recently I experienced the absolute worst customer service at a restaurant I’ve ever experienced. My family and I regularly order large to-go orders from them. This last time, I ordered by phone, went and picked up the order, and drove to my grandmother’s house as we had all gotten together to help her declutter her house in preparation for moving to a retirement home. We sat down to eat, I stuck my fork in my dish, and realized it was made with chicken instead of the tofu I’ve requested since I’m a vegetarian. I called the restaurant and asked for them to make me another and that I would be by shortly. The girl on the phone was the same one that had taken my initial order and also handed me my food when I picked it up, so she acknowledged that she knew which order was mine and that they would prepare a corrected order. I asked her if she needed anything else and she said no. I drove back six miles to the restaurant, having to leave the work party at my grandmother’s house.
When I arrived at the store, the same girl turned around, clearly recognized me, and said, “Oh, I need to get my manager.” I was instantly puzzled as this seemed odd for a simple corrected order. The manager approached. She was not smiling, she did not apologize for the mistake on my order, but instead asked me if I had brought the incorrect order back. I said no, because in my experience that’s not typical since it’s a health hazard and I had stuck my fork in it. She then asked for my receipt. I also had not brought that because I was rushing out the door to try to return to the work party, and also the girl on the phone had not mentioned either of these things when I specifically asked her if she needed anything. She acknowledged she remembered me, so it didn’t seem necessary. The manager then told me there was nothing she could do, as there was no proof of my order. Mind you, the girl that had taken my order, given me my food, answered my call about the incorrect order, and greeted me upon returning is standing one foot away from her. So, she basically starts the conversation with a customer by calling me a liar.
I pointed to the girl and said that she recognized me and had also not indicated I needed to bring either of these things back. The manager again refused. I said I was going to call them out on social media because this was ridiculous, and only then did she say she could try to look up my transaction and asked when I had picked up my food. She pulls up the order and informs me that it had never been rung up as a tofu order, but had been chicken all along. Then, the girl who had taken the order says “Yeah, you told me chicken.” I was FLOORED. I was basically being called a liar a second time. I’m a vegetarian, so I absolutely did not order a chicken dish for myself. The manager then says, “Well, you picked up the order and paid for it, and it was repeated to you on the phone, so there’s nothing I can do.” At that point, I got so angry I stormed out of the store.
Unbelievable, which is why I took the time to write such a lengthy review. My family and I will never eat there again, and I’ve made sure to pass the word to my friends...
Read moreSo this was a spontaneous visit to Tallahassee and the original restaurant was not open. We wanted noodles and I just happened to google this place. We pulled up to an empty parking lot and no other customers inside.
The employee was knowledgeable, friendly, and personable. She knew the menu and what the sauce were and even allowed me to sample one before I ordered. I had the Mahi mahi in teriyaki sauce with noodles, and my son had the veggie with noodles add chicken with two spring rolls.
The atmosphere was laid back and clean. The table were clean and so was the condiment area. The seating area is plentiful and nicely decorated art on the walls. Seating is also available outside under a awning area that is well lit. The bathroom was well lit and clean with all needed items in stock. Our food came out fresh, hot, and delicious. It was so much food that we had some to take back on the 1.5 hour drive. This is our new go to spot for fresh, healthy, and delicious food in a laid...
Read moreThis place's food is fine, but this particular location's service is about as bad as it gets.
Regularly forgetting portions of the meal and taking much longer than the promised ready time is the standard here, but today's event takes the cake.
I was the first to arrive, and ordered first. Three other people place their order after me, and get their food and head out. I was standing there for another 10 minutes, and after asking what the status of my food was, I found out that the food was ready but they just neglected to call my name to let me know.
I was standing in plain sight of the worker the entire time, and it was such an obvious oversight that I am tempted to assume it was intentional due to my race.
The cherry on top - their response when I asked about the food and found out it was sitting ready for me for 10+ minutes? "my bad".
If you're the manager of this place, is this how you train your...
