Royal Thai and Sushi — Restaurant in Tallahassee

Extremely disappointed in the service I received. I will say I have had one bad experience before, but i overlooked it and have constantly had good service since. The food, is honestly phenomenal. You can't get better sushi in Tallahassee. Thats why this is so disappointing, because after the service I had today i'm really not sure i want to go back. We came in for lunch, (which I have done several time in the past and it's normally very fast, on average 25 min there) expecting to have our order taken within a timely manner. it took close to 25 min to get our order taken. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant and the server seemed to really take her time, and even seemed annoyed that we where bothered that it took so long. We implied that we where starting to get pressed for time, and she seemed to take longer. We came in for the lunch special, and it took so long to get our order that we had to get it to go, in which we where told that the lunch special would no longer apply. We didn't recieve our food until almost 45 min in, and I spent close to 40 dollars on lunch, to have to have my girlfriend eat it in the car. By the time I got back to work, I didn't have time to even eat it (half of it got thrown away, warm sushi is not the best) . We had every intention of eating there, but it took so long, I had no choice but to get it to-go. I understand if the server is busy, but there was hardly anyone there. I want to preface with the fact that we came in on their first day opening in the Pensacola location. My friends and I came in after grad pics, we all placed orders for appetizers and waited 2 HOURS for any food to get on our table, we saw other tables with similar number of people get their food, pay, and leave before we received anything. Not only this, but the owner didn’t seem to care too much that we were sitting there after placing orders for 2 hours. The waiter lied around 30 minutes in saying “the appetizers are coming right out,” well I’m not sure what your definition of right out means but you shouldn’t tell people that if it isn’t true. Food finally started coming out. It seemed as if every single one of our orders was incorrect, 2 of us ordered red curry and we got yellow, the spice levels were not what we ordered either. Instead of correcting the mistake the waiter thought it would be a good idea to just give us the dish we didn’t order and call it a day. NOT A WORD FROM THE OWNER APOLOGIZNG FOR THEIR MISTAKES. And to top it all off, they swiped my card for someone else’s order and I ended up paying 15$ more than my ticket was. The owner handed me the difference in cash. Really kinda terrible. Got off call at the hospital, wife wanted pad Thai. We ordered drunken noodles, pad Thai, shushing deluxe, and several orders of salmon nagiri and a Thai soup for take out.

Get the food home open up the noodles and i instantly knew we made a mistake, noodles were dry. But not dry like there wasn’t any sauce.

The pad Thai looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The rice noodles had dried out and looked like old rubber bands.

The drunken noodles tasted like the noodles were washed in recycled dish water and just tossed in expired peanut oil. Rancid.

The sushi was on another level of terrible. Salmon nagiri tasted like someone had sprayed cleaner on or around the fish. Almost like a detergent. The rainbow roll had old oxidized avocado, brown and filled with dark veins. The rice in the sushi itself had no flavor, but not in the way of tasting like nothing, it tasted as if the rice has been boiled in a large pot of water and it had been boiled so long that the rice had lost its texture and consistency and turned into rice mush.

Honestly a terrible experience me and my wife spent almost $90. Please avoid this restaurant...
