As you can see, I give good reviews as well as bad reviews. Today, you decided...
Let me begin by saying, "I am a Dunkin Donut guy in the morning, and I have been every day for almost three years in Tallahassee. Every so often, I get the urge for a LARGE HOT CARAMEL MACCHIATO in the evening hours. Today, I decided to go to this Starbucks. (What a mistake that was). So, I go in, and there's a younger college girl as well as an older woman, probably in her 70s. The older women took my order as I asked for, a lg hot, caramel macchiato with one extra shot as it was getting late and I am cautious about too much caffeine at night, along with a slice of pumpkin loaf, unheated. We even discussed how I normally like 2 extra shots. The cost was $12.52, so I added another $1.00 for a tip. A minute or two later, the old woman brought two pieces of pumpkin loaf and stated that she made a mistake and heated the loaf up. I thought how cool. Oh, it gets better!! The college girl made my drink and brought it to me, and I was on my way home. Stay with me... I get home and look into the cup and see foam about an inch lower than the top of the cup. Hmm?? I felt the need to take a picture before mixing the foam in my drink. When I completed mixing my drink. The line of coffee was even lower. What?? So, I took another picture of the coffee line, which was less than 3/4 of the cup. REMEMBER, I ORDER AN EXTRA SHOT AS WELL. I needed to let them know.
I made my way back to the store (2 minutes away). I went to the old woman. Politly, I said, "When you get a minute." She came over, and when I showed her the cup of macchiato and asked, is this a large and had I not asked for an extra shot? Would it have been even lower?
Her answer was, well, the foam desolved. So I asked her again, "If I didn't ask for an extra shot, would it have been lower?" The college girl then asked if I wanted a new drink. She wasn't the problem. She attempted to correct the situation. The 70 year old on the other hand, began to explain again that the drink foam desolved, and that's why it's so low. Apparently, she did hear me or chose not to. I asked again, "Had I not asked for an extra shot, would my drink line have been even LOWER?? She began to raise her voice another knotch, again stating it was the foam. I never received an answer to, "If I did not order an extra shot, would the drink line be lower. THE OLD WOMAN DIDN'T TRY TO CORRECT THE SITUATION, SHE TRIED TO JUSTIFY WHY MY CUP WAS ONLY HALF FULL, stating it's because of the foam.
I never got a straight answer from the old woman regarding the level of coffee had I NOT ordered the extra shot. BECAUSE SHE DID NOT WANT TO BE WRONG. Now, I'm upset, and staying there would only escalate the situation. I'm retired law enforcement, and I won't put up with stupidity or someone trying to justify a mistake and not take responsibility for it, which the college girl attempted to do. I left the store without the drink. It wasn't worth it. I will never set foot in that store again. If I was a reginal manager and this was the way a customer was treated. I would have fired that old woman immediately and sent her home. Straight up, FIRED!!! The college girl attempted to correct the situation, but the 70 year old refused to take any responsibility, what so ever! She has a real people person problem when spoken to regarding mistakes, and it's going to create a mess eventually. I will be contacting the main office tomorrow morning to receive a full refund and make sure they are aware of this situation. Have a...
Read moreAround 9 AM today (12/19/24) I ordered an iced shaken espresso at Starbucks, my go-to drink, and had one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever encountered. I asked for no classic syrup and to substitute sugar-free vanilla, as I always do. However, the employee—I believe his name is Darion (though I might be spelling that wrong)—didn’t mark “no classic” on the order. When I kindly reminded him, he insisted the drink doesn’t come with classic syrup. I know for a fact it does—it’s listed on the website, and I’ve ordered this drink countless times.
When I received my drink, I politely asked for clarification. Instead of simply confirming with the person who made the drink, Darion repeatedly told me, “Try the drink for quality control and let me know if you taste classic syrup.” This made me extremely uncomfortable, and I again asked if he could check. He responded rudely, saying, “Everyone can hear you on the headphones. There’s no classic syrup in it.” I was shocked by his dismissive tone and repeated insistence to “try the drink” when I was just asking for confirmation.
Even as I drove away, I remained extremely polite, saying, “OK, never mind. Have a good day, thanks, bye.” But then Darion yelled after me, “Oh, OK, OK!” and even screamed my name out the window, which was incredibly unprofessional. I was polite the entire time, never raised my voice, and didn’t deserve such rude and disrespectful treatment.
To make matters worse, when I got home and tasted the drink, it was incredibly sweet—proving that it does have classic syrup. Now, I don’t even want to drink it because of how much sugar it has, meaning I just wasted nearly seven dollars. I wish I could go back and have them remake it, but after how I was treated, I’m genuinely terrified to return and risk dealing with that kind of behavior again. Instead, I’m just not going to drink it.
This experience left me in tears. No customer should ever be spoken to or treated this way, especially when they’re being polite and simply asking for their order to be prepared correctly. I truly hope Starbucks addresses this situation because no one deserves to feel this disrespected, dismissed, and frustrated.
This is the Starbucks location I’ve always gone to, but after this experience, I will unfortunately never be...
Read moreIf I could give negative review I would. I made my order and pulled up to the drive thru and paid for my order. Then about 5 minutes later a very snobby employee comes to the window demanding for me to put out my cigarette. Now I know not everyone like the cigarette smell and she could have asked nicely and I would have, however she starts telling me it’s policy. I looked around and there are no signs stating that you cannot smoke in the drive thru in your personal vehicle and personally customers do not know policy so why are there no signs? When I asked the three employees start to stutter. However I put my cigarette out anyways, but then they bring me my drink which was watered down, no whip cream and a small amount of caramel. I ordered grande caramel frappe grande. They tell me that they are out of whip cream and when I inform them to find a substitute they then all of a sudden found whip cream. I have been a customer at multiple locations for over 20 years and have never had an issue at all. It is also not a law in Florida that we have to abide by the policy if a business nor is it a law banning a customer from smoking within 25 feet of their building. If they would have told me this before I paid I would have choose another coffee shop as other locations I have never had an issue ever with smoking it with making the drink. The employees were extremely rude and I do not think I will be returning. Starbucks used to be a great coffee shop but now it’s seems the money has gotten to their heads and I would rather take myself, family and friends to another great coffee shop. If your reading this please visit 32 degrees ice cream and coffee on ocala rd as not only do they have the same coffee drinks and they taste 20x better but they also have a family feeling atmosphere that is very welcoming. I will no longer be a Starbucks customers but I bet you 20 bucks they will not...
