My family drove 4.5 hours to come to Tallahassee to see our mother who is in a rehab center. We have been driving back and forth from Clearwater because she was in a head on collision. I had Ted's saved in my phone on maps as a place I wanted to visit. As we were driving I told my husband there was a restaurant we had to go check out. Teds!!! I was super excited to check it out. We pull up to our hotel and realize Teds is right next door! I was so happy! I wanted to try the bison ribs or steak. I am allergic to cow and gluten. I can't eat beef or dairy. I typically cook with ground bison and have had one bison steak. I hate to say it but was not impressed. I read the reviews and didn't think we would experience what we did. We came in around 8:30pm. It wasn't overly busy. The food took forever. The food was fine but nothing special. It really didn't have a lot of flavor. I'm assuming because I can't eat any butter and that's what they use to cook with. I was upset to hear I couldn't eat the ribs or brisket because they had gluten. Their was no seasoning on the bison NY strip either. For $38 dollars it should have been. I am happy they accommodated my allergies and cooked it separately. I appreciate that they had a gluten free menu too. The broccoli was over cooked and mushy. No flavor at all. The fries were excellent. Our kids had the macaroni and cheese with fries. I was very impressed with the kids meal. The portion was great! They loved it. My husband ordered a bison bacon burger with fries. He unfortunately didn't get his burger until later on in the meal after we got our food. After he ate half his burger his fries finally came. The fixings were brought on the side too. He thought with the price he shouldn't have to make his own burger. The server wasn't exceptional either. It wasnt her fault the food didn't come out in time. She didn't offer a discount or bring anything special. Not necessary but would have been nice. I had to ask for ketchup. She brought us one small ramican. We had for of us with fries. I expected a server to be much better at Teds. Especially in an upscale restaurant. She was not very hospitable and acted like she didnt really care. In my opinion you should be welcoming and warm. Do things with excellence and accommodate as much as possible. Either she is lacking training or just doesn't have the personality. Overall she wasn't anything special. She didn't ask if we were celebrating anything or what bring us in tonight. My husband was asking if a drink was included in the kids meal. It's hard for him to look at people. She rudely asked, "Are you talking to me or her," because he was looking at me while asking. The rest of the meal we didn't get asked if our water need to be filled either. She seemed rushed and not very engaged. A server makes the experience. I think a different server would have given us a better experience. Overall the food portions are great. I think we will try it again when we are in town because it is rare to find bison. I hope we don't get the same server when we do visit again. I think I will try the bison burger next time. I would love to see more gluten free dairy free options...

I wish I could say that I enjoyed my time at Ted's Montana and for a second there it almost happened. So, I booked a reservation for a table for 2 at 6:30 pm to celebrate my 7th anniversary between myself and my fiancee. We got to the restaurant at 6:18 pm and we got seated right away. Everything went downhill afterwards. Our waitress and waiter (one of them was training) took our drink order. After drinks arrived, we got our orders taken. We waited and waited, and before we knew it we checked our clocks and about an hour had passed since our order was taken. The waiter came by and told us food would be coming out soon multiple times. We said thank you and kept waiting, another 20 minutes went by and nothing. We had another event we had to go to at 7:30pm and I had to call them to push it back because we had still not gotten our food. Thankfully we were able to push it back. Thats when the manager came by to tell us that the food order had not been placed. We were both shocked and the manager offered her apologies and told us the food would be out soon. We told her that today was our anniversary and that we had an event we had to push back due to the delay. She just said that the food would be coming out. We didn't want to be rude so we said thank you. We didn't end up getting our food closer to 8 pm. Our waitress came back to check on us a couple of times. Once we were almost done, our waitress stopped by and mentioned that "the manager is taking care of our check". We were so relieved that the staff was going to take care of their mistake in some way and she even mentioned that we would get dessert "on the house". We thought, wow! They really want to make this right with us, but little did we know this was WAY OFF. We received our dessert at about 8:10 pm and we had to speed it up since our other event started at 8:40pm. We watched a tabletop of 20 come after us, was served and left before we got our check back. However, about 8:25 pm the waitress came back with the check charging us for EVERYTHING. NO DISCOUNT, NO NOTHING for the major inconvenience that night. I am not sure what kind of restaurant says , "we will take care of the check and the dessert is on the house" and still charges customers for everything. This was utterly disrespectful that not only was our food order was forgotten, the delay caused us to delay other events in the night celebrating our anniversary but to add insult to injury the staff claimed to take care of the bill and charged us for EVERYTHING. This is definitely not the way to conduct business or treat your customers. Utterly...
Read moreWe came in there for my birthday party. 6 people made a reservation and was still sat outside. In the patio area. Hot muggy, insects, biting. Status next to what seems to be a co-worker of theirs. Talking on her phone on speakerphone. As loud as can be. Orders were taken, not sure, if not put in right or what happened, but things that were supposed to have no onions and onions, things that we're supposed to have onions did not have onions. When the baked potato came out, it had onions. When she went to get a new one, they were all of a sudden out. My kids did not eat all of their burgers, they said it tasted funny. Instead of the server comping anything off the meal. She gave us all of our checks. Even after the several complaints that we had from food tasting odd between the burger, the huge chunk of fat in the bison delmonico which, as an ex butcher usually doesn't have that much. I feel like that was just a standard ribeye. Delmonicos are different, as they have a decent size tail. As well as marbling. Then the broccoli tasted off putting. All this was brought up to the server and nothing was done. We should not have left as big of a tip. Because she should have said something to a manager, at least taking off the burgers that we're not eating and a percentage of the steak because of the flavor and the amount of fat. I left the same reviews in the email I received today. Just not as long I think this will be my first and only trip to this restaurant. I mean, they didn't even offer a dessert or anything. As a manager of a restaurant that was right across the street at 1 time. This is not. How you run a restaurant. On top of that, a few of us had stomach issues later on that evening. Not saying it was necessarily the restaurant's fault. As we did go to the movies, but I did not eat a bunch of sweets and my stomach was fine prior. Again, i'm not blaming just a weird coincidence. But I am not the only 4 out of six of us have the same issue. As I'm leaving this review, my daughter just told me about a hair and her Mac and cheese. I told her next time she needs to speak up. This is a lot of complaints. I'm sure, but this is ridiculous. My kids are adults, but they're not that old 19 and 21 trying to treat me to a good meal. Hopefully next time they learned, but they tried not to complain. I'm gonna complain on here, so maybe you guys can read...
