Lakeside Plaza - Tamarac, FL location - Being of Vietnamese decent, today I experienced the worst customer service ever. My parents had always taught me to only go to Pho restaurants that have numbers in the back of the name. This is because they are true Vietnamese Pho restaurants. The rest of the Pho "houses" do not hold true Vietnamese standards. However, I am a very avid supporter of small businesses, so I decided to try out Pho Hoa. After calling in and placing my order, I was told it would take 10 to 15 minutes. However, I found myself caught up at work. This in turn delayed me picking up my order by 20 minutes. Upon arriving, I learned my order was not placed. In fact, the person who I spoke to, hadn't even wrote my order down. Frantic, the front desk person ran to the back ignoring my questions. She then appeared and stated I needed to wait for my order. I sat down to wait for a moment. Upon looking around, I noticed they weren't busy. There were a total of 4 patrons. I thought to myself, "how could they forget about my order? Was this just true laziness or is this how they actually treat their customers?" Concerned because I really needed to get back to work, the young lady appeared again and stated it would take another 5 minutes. I obviously was very frustrated and left. My advise is to not eat here. The customer service is horrible. In my opinion, a restaurants customer service reflects greatly on the preparation and execution of their food. Honestly, I went up the street to McDonalds. They've never let me down....
Read moreThis is and or was the best tasting pho around, but both service and quality have had severe off days over the years. The last time I went I felt embarrassed for making such a big deal about the place to my friends, it's a far drive for us, and then to find it was like replacement ingredient day? Our pho was lacking in meat and came with one stalk of basil to split between us, when previously I had often received a great serving of both basil and cilantro just for myself.. and I had ordered a pho that typically gets cilantro. The waiters can be very distant and largely silent, but other evenings a friendly hostess or two is available and attentive. Obviously I keep going back for the days they are what I came to expect from them, flavorful broth and not skimpy ingredients at a great price and delicious boba tea. However, what counts against them most is a serious lack of consistency. For first time visitors, it could be enough to not return again in favor of exploring other pho restaurants in the area.
I'm editing my review to add that while I have not had another dine-in experience here in quite some time, they do take-out pho really, really well. Great supply of ingredients to add to your broth, it's packaged well, and is ready for pick up by the times I arrive. They'll wait to make a smoothie until you there, but that is just very practical. For this experience, I'm bumping my...
Read moreThis place get 5 on taste, quality, quantity & price. This place isn't fancy, but it's clean and they're quick!! I got the hot and sour soup, and can honestly say, I've never had a better tasting pho!! Where have you been my entire life??
This was my second time having their pho, and I decided to hold off on writing a review until I set foot on this place. Plus I tried a few others, just to have a barometer. You know how sometimes you have something and you glamorize the memory and then you go and have a second time and you're like, "yeah, this isn't at all like I remembered it!" This is not the case. In trying others and then going back here, I realized this was truly exactly how I remembered and it even tasted better!! How's that possible? I had my husband bring me take out the first time, and then second time I had it on site. It felt more authentic with their fancy chopsticks, soup spoons, and bowls with fresh ingredients!! I live in palm beach county and will drive back there just for them!! Love it and...
