Caprichos Mexicanos — Restaurant in Tamarac

My friend and I decided to switch things up during our lunch break and headed to Caprichos Mexicanos in Fort Lauderdale. Let me just say, it was the perfect mid-day treat!

The moment we walked in, the vibrant decor and the colorful displays of desserts caught our attention. The menu is full of Mexican-inspired ice creams, paletas, and other creative sweets, making it almost impossible to choose just one. I ended up going with their Crazy Strawberry Ice cream “ Fresas Locas” while my friend opted for fruit salad and we decided to share the “Crazy Pineapple “ the 3 items were absolutely delicious, striking the perfect balance of authentic flavor and indulgence.

The staff were super friendly and even gave us a little background on their homemade treats. The atmosphere was relaxed yet lively, making it such a great spot to unwind during the workday.

If you’re in Fort Lauderdale and craving something sweet, Caprichos Mexicanos is a must-visit. My friend and I both left with smiles on our faces—and already planning to come back...

Is located in a shopping center. The restaurant has a big colorful sign on top. The area has plenty of parking around. One of my favorite drinks was the Aguas Fresca. It was a cucumber and lime flavored water drink. It was really good. It had fresh grind cucumbers inside. It was refreshing. The Esquite was delicious. It is the restaurant version of street corn. This dish is delicious. It comes in a cup and its layers of different things are combined. It tasted amazing. It has cheese, two types of sauces, one smokey and one a little bit spicy, mayo and something white I think sour cream. It tasted great. The Ensalada de Fruta was very good. It was a fruit salad with fresh tropical fruits, condensed milk, and cheese. The combination was delicious. The chicharron was good. First time visiting Caprichos Mexicanos, everything was EXCELLENT!!! They were very welcoming and the decor took us back to memories of Mexico. They offer a wide variety of appetizers, treats, ice cream and popsicles! I started off with an Elote loco which had delicious warm nacho cheese dripping all over, YUM! I also had a Cholado which is shaved ice with fresh passion fruit, mango, and strawberries and also sweetened condesed milk and topped off with even more fresh fruit!! My mom had an Esquite loco which she said was reallly good. She also had a Mango and chamoy popsicle with tajin she says she could've eaten 2 and she's never had a better popsicle!!!
