From their devil crab balls that burst with flavor to their Cuban sandwiches that transport you to the heart of Havana, every dish is a masterpiece crafted with passion and expertise. My culinary journey began with the devil crab ball, a symphony of flavors that danced across my palate. The crab filling, infused with a hint of spice, was encased in a golden-fried shell that provided the perfect textural contrast. Each bite was a delightful explosion of taste, leaving me wanting more. Next, I ventured into the realm of Cuban sandwiches, a culinary emblem of the Caribbean. The perfectly toasted bread cradled layers of savory pork, tangy pickles, and Swiss cheese, all harmoniously blended with a touch of mustard. The flavors melded seamlessly, creating a symphony of taste that transported me to the bustling streets of Havana. Finally, I indulged in the roast pork, a testament to the chef's mastery of slow-cooked meats. The pork was fork-tender, infused with the rich flavors of herbs and spices, and accompanied by a tangy sauce that perfectly complemented its savory goodness. Each bite was a culinary delight, leaving me savoring the lingering flavors long after the meal was over. Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter going here for 40yrs it is sad to not see joe there , i realize its been years since his passing but still miss him. Havent seen Michael there the last few times and it shows. This place used to be PACKED from the time they opened till close , i said years ago that as changes were being made to the cuban (garlic pickle ? Romaine leaf ? Deli mustard ?) NEVER on a cuban !!!! In general ..no dinners , streamlining menu , no pressing !! That it would impact business, its almost like Micheal has checked out and lets the old grumps run the place IYKYK , they're horrible, not welcoming at all just adds to a negative nostalgia for us tampanians and a bad impression for 1st timers. I NEVER say times have passed and it doesn't need to be reinvented, just harken back to what made it what it was from early 90's to about 2010 , they blame the pandemic but hubris and arrogant changes , defying traditional norms in my opinion is what has contributed to the diminishing business, i was there today at 11am and more workers than customers, NEVER did i think I'd see that !!! Used to seeing Michael scurrying around yelling hi to people, I haven't seen that in years !! I sure pray it comes back to those glory years. Also the crabs & balls are STILL the best since Rose retired , but whats with the fajita size veggie's??? Never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst off I feel weird giving a three-star review. The good-what I ordered was absolutely fantastic value! I ordered two specials that included a large devil crab and a 6-in Cuban, and that came with chips and a drink. the whole price tag on that was about 32 bucks. For reference, the large double crab by itself is 13 bucks, that means that I ordered two devil crabs at full price and then paid $6 for the 2 Cubans, chips and drink. The bad. What I ordered was not what I got! What I received in my bag was one large devil crab, 2 Cuban subs and a turkey club. Whereas I enjoyed what I received it's not what I bloody ordered! the simple answer is take it back to the counter and that's my own fault for not checking my bag before I left. My only excuse for not checking my bag is the place was absolutely packed, but that's a good thing it shows they do good business! My takeaway. I have seen Mom and Pop restaurants use mass-produced cookie cutter apps to help them process online orders and I genuinely feel like a facility that does amazing food and business like this one could afford to get a tech guy to work an app out for them. also my receipt was right, my checkout slip was right, my order was not filled right though so just a simple double check would have made this a...
