Cortado Notes Source: The Attic Cafe in Tampa, Fl Tactioception: Hot to the touch. The glass enclosure burned my fingers upon first grasp. The burning sensation was oaky, with a bit of first degree burns around the corner. Upon dipping my finger into the actual cortado, the burn was much more mild, complemented by the frothy milk on top, adding a layer of fluffiness to the touch. Olfacoception : Hints of vanilla at the back end bordering on the sweet to nutty spectrum of flavor with notes of clove, maple syrup, and molasses making up the majority of the body. Ophthalmoception: A visual spectacle worthy of Martha Stewart, GQ, and Gizmodo front covers. The collection of multicolored frothy swirls is a perfect allegory for the synonymity of man. It's as if the heavens themselves painted this masterpiece to show humanity the pool of Lazarus set in a fantastical utopia. Audioception: As I bent my humble ear to the source, I heard everything in nothing. Inside was a perfect stillness. The culmination of the efforts and striving and pains of labor that bring about nothing but entropy. The noises I heard were those that people across the world seek their whole life for, captured perfectly in this tiny cup. Absolute perfection. Gustaoception: Tasted like espresso with warm milk.

I don't know why this really cool, and inviting coffee cafe is only rated a 4. The place was packed when we went in, and we were lucky enough to score an outdoor table on the patio. Being in the heart of downtown Tampa, they did a lovely job decorating the patio with plants to make it warm and intimate. I love the oversized coffee mugs. I had the cafe con leche, and it was very different from those I have had in the past. It had cinnamon atop, which normally isn't my go-to, but I really enjoyed the flavor. My husband also thought his latte was well balanced with the flavor he chose. We shared the breakfast potato menu item, and it was hearty and tasty. It had potatoes, eggs, meat, and toast (you select your preference). It fed both of us, and we didn't leave hungry. Staff at the counter are very business like and not the most engaging. But our server ... I think his name was Jack...so sorry, but I can't remember was fantastic. He was efficient and cordial. There are limited tables outside and tons of indoor seating. The place was packed with a wait list when we left. Menu offers a variety of options for food and coffee. Prices reasonable.

Man what to say. My boyfriend and I have come here a few times before today and LOVED it. The food was great, service fast, and the owner Rosa is amazing. Today however we came in with our parents and family and it was not as great experience as before. When we finally got seated our waitress, Alyssa, took our order drink order and we waited about 15 minuets for coffee and drinks. She informed us she had to wait for the machine which we understood but she could’ve taken our food orders while we were waiting and didn’t. My fathers sprite was flat from the machine and she had to get him a bottle. When we finally got in our food, after some time it looked ready but was never brought over. The owner looked upset with our sever when this happened. Alyssa told us that there was a large party that was waiting for food before us but the burritos that we saw waiting and ready were never taken to the other large party. Instead they were taken back by the owner, which led us to believe it was our food since we ordered 3 burritos. My parents and grandmother were watching the cooks make the food and one of them (they had a Puerto Rican hat) was looking at back at us. My stepmother said she heard that cook say “why are they looking over here” and was complaining about it. They were looking over there because they were wondering where their food was after being in the restaurant for almost 2 hours. We also had to constantly keep asking the servers to close the sliding door because it was cold outside. At one point the wind from outside blew a menu in my grandmothers face and hurt her slightly. When we finally got our food it was pretty warm but not hot. My step mom said service was the same way the last time she went with her friend and that they’ll never go back after this experience. Neither will my boyfriend and I which is really sad because we loved this place. Rosa the owner is great! That’s the only reason why its a 3/5 rating but this place is nothing else anymore. A hidden...

I’m not one to write reviews but I never experienced such terrible service. Me and my friend went for breakfast because we saw from Tik Tok. We got there and noticed they were short staffed. 3 people working : one taking orders, one bringing food and one cooking. As someone who works in the services industry I understand it would be wait as I could clearly see they were short staffed. We stood at the hostess stand for about 10 minutes before someone acknowledged there was a line out to the elevator as it is a tight space. They asked us to sit and kept running to take orders and give food. After about 30 mins we stopped one of the workers and kindly asked how much longer does she think the wait would be. She rudely said there’s only two of us right now. We said we understand just wanted to know if she could give us an estimate. She rudely replied again I’ll seat you after I take this tables order. As she was walking back toward their kitchen area another customer asked how long the wait. She nicely replied to the gentleman about 20-30 min. Then once we sat we ordered right away because we were hungry. We waited an hour and still had not received our food but three other parties that were behind us had been given there food. Once finally able to catch another waiter we asked where our food was as several other people that were sat after us had been given their food before us. She went and asked the cook and she said she had no Order for us. She told the cook table number four hadn’t received their food. The cook said I have no order for 4 and I’m on table number 8. Our Waiter Ise I think they said her name was had not put our order in. She was the same one who sat us too. We wasted 2 hours for poor service and mediocre chicken waffles. I’ll leave you with this we were the only brown people in there too so do what you will...

We didn’t have a good experience at The Attic. We went with some work friends for brunch. The food was ok, but our main concern was the service. We saw that they were advertising a pitcher of mimosas for $35 so we ordered one to split between a couple people. First of all, it was a small carafe, definitely not a pitcher (it should have been $20 at most…it was so small). We got three glasses out of it total (they were advertising single glasses for $8…so basically we had to pay $11 more to get less??) but unfortunately they put so much flavoring syrup in the “pitcher” that we couldn’t drink it (it was disgustingly sweet). Our server never came back to check on us after initially dropping off our drinks (someone else delivered the food) and when we asked if we could have it taken off the bill (we literally all had full glasses, did not drink it) we were told no, too bad. She then proceeded to mix up several checks in our party charging the wrong amounts on several of our cards. We had to wait forever while they tried to sort it out (it was so hot in there, we were so very uncomfortable, it was literally cooler outside). We asked if a manager was available to help us with our concerns but no one would come speak with us. They also went ahead and added 20% automatic tip to our checks as well. I was really disappointed and I feel like my money was taken without a care that I was unhappy. I tried to resolve it before leaving but wasn’t given the opportunity. Honestly, I would go...
