So I took my daughter's grandmother to dinner for her birthday last night& she is elderly and disabled and I have a newborn baby. my daughter is Hispanic and when I was pregnant I craved spanish food. I used to work next door and when we went in last night, the brunette that works there was our waitress. my daughters grandmother had a hard time reading the menu and finally put her order in once she found the meal that she wanted to eat. Waited for them to make the food and then when we were served, we ate the food. She has dexterity issues in the one side of her body so it takes forever for her right hand and leg to even move. And it's her birthday right? The brunette while she is still eating her dinner due to her disability tells both of us that it's been 30 minutes and we have to leave when she isn't done eating which I have ALREADY PAID HER ASS FOR. I was willing to wait but they clearly don't give a damn if they have customers cuz when we went there the restaurant was empty. Entirely empty. That waitress has been rude as fuck to me 4 times when I was pregnant on my lunch breaks, including once when she didn't give me any silverware to eat my food, and now this. Please fire her ass cuz she will run your business...
Read moreI was very glad to learned about this restaurant when they opened. South Tampa needed a Colombian restaurant. However, I was very disappointed. The food is tasty but the service never was great. However, I kept going there and bringing friends to eat with me or my family. One day they served me an old rice that didn’t look appetizing nor smell good and when I told the owner about it she was not happy with my request and changed it with a bad attitude for fresh rice. When I pointed out that the new rice look and taste fresh she refused to accept that the other one was old and said to me I was wrong. As a owner of a food business she should keep happy their clients and at least smile to them when they get to her restaurant or when taking orders. The owner in my opinion is in the wrong business. She lacks of positive attitude in costumer service. I don’t want to support and give my money anymore tho this place and I don’t recommend anyone to go there. I always left with a bad energy from that place as if I was...
Read moreThe first time we entered, we already loved the ambiance, it was quaint, humble and homie. It's a quiet place with traditional music playing in the background. A very simole restuarant. We ordered their platter menu, and ox tongue. I definitely recommend the ox tongue. It was so tender, it's like melting in your mouth as you bite. They are the only place I know that sells tjis rare delicacy. Also, their sauce has a lot of fresh herbs in it, that really heightens the flavor. We really enjoyed our meal. We had cheese flan for dessert which only costs $3 and it's so good. The empanada was freshly made and tasted really meaty, unlike other empanadas which has a lot of flour mixed within. Same with the guava cheese bread, the soft puffy texture of the bread was what I liked the most. It was delicious. I frequently dine in la teresita which is cheaper but I wanna come back to El Cafetal more now because it's worth it. Food tasted so...
