They were super short staffed, so the wait was crazy. The 2 workers were trying their best but were flustered at times, which is to be expected when there's only one cook. When you have one cook and two people working, the food comes out hella slow! I was disappointed in whoever manages the restaurant. At some point, phone calls should've been made to other employees and cooks to have them come in, give incentives or something. It was a bad first experience, but the food saved you!!! My friend and I ordered a sushi fries, spring rolls, chicken dumplings, a volcano (I subbed the fried shrimp with fried white fish), rocky road, and I believe the Atlantic. Everything was really fresh and good. But it took an hour to get our food and we had to ask for it. All in all, I am definitely going back in a week or two to give them another chance and hopefully update this review to 5 stars. The place is cute and cozy, definitely a good date night place.

The restaurant is located inside of a house in the heart of ybor. It’s a very cute lil vibe I appreciated the waitress letting me know they’re short staffed the day I went. It set the expectation that there’d be a bit of a wait. I ordered miso soup, salmon and yellowtail sashimi and a shrimp tempura roll. The Sashimi was very fresh and flavorful I ordered two ordered of each fish and that was enough. The miso soup was absolutely delicious. I wanted to grab some today but they didn’t open until 5. My waitress was very sweet and accommodating. Poor girl was running around trying to help everyone. It’s a great place to grab sushi with friends and it’s right across the street from centennial park where you can see the chickens or continue your date if you aren’t ready to leave yet.

If I can give zero stars I would for horrible service. I paid $75 for sushi and asked for spicy mayonnaise And had no problem paying extra for the spicy mayonnaise. When they Gave me the spicy mayonnaise it wasn’t even halfway filled so I asked them to at least fill it all the way for me. The manager walked by and Said we fill it for the portion we charge you for and if I want it filled all the way I would have to pay again for the spicy mayonnaise. I’m sorry I don’t mind paying extra for the sauces but you don’t even fill it halfway and then you wanna charge me double the amount to fill it all the way that makes no sense. It’s not like they charge a cheap amount and $.75 per container and I bought two.. The food is very basic that’s why I need the sauce to cover up the taste.

I hope my review is helpful to other people so they don’t get taken advantage of like myself. And I really hope their management improves and start caring about their customers.

First off, it was very difficult to find parking. All the lots were full, but we finally found one for $25. We felt with that price, it should’ve been a valet. My husband, our 18 month old baby and I went in last night around 8:15 pm and didn’t get to leave until 10 pm. We didn’t get a good vibe when we arrived. The hostess/waitress and chefs at the bar seemed inexperienced. Their menu was small and selective. There was only one meal option for kids and they were not able to accommodate at all so I had to come with something small for our 18 month old baby.

We ordered spring rolls, fire crackers, mango maguro, sweet and spicy, and volcano rolls. For the baby, I simply asked for miso soup with extra tofu and avocado nigiri (two pieces of rice with sliced avocado on top). We didn’t get our first appetizer until 9:30 pm and then the rest of the food came out a few minutes after.

When the waitress brought out our food, we noticed right away it was missing one roll. So we asked which ones she brought out but she couldn’t even describe the rolls stating she’s new. She apologized and said they were gonna bring out the 4th roll quickly after which they did. Mango maguro was the one they forgot and it was made incorrectly. On their current menu, the mango is supposed to be placed on top but they cut into cubes and put them inside. If you are a sushi eater, it does make a difference how you place your ingredients. I’m not calling myself an expert but we get sushi weekly and have gone to several omakase places.

Mango maguro was small and didn’t taste right, I’m assuming because it wasn’t made properly. But the rest of the rolls were delicious and the proportion was big. Our total bill was $92.70 and we noticed the up-charges $3 for extra tofu and $5 for the avocado nigiri. We absolutely had no problem paying at all. But what got me upset was the unreasonable up-charges. With their most expensive protein meat (tuna/salmon) was less than $5. We asked for an avocado and it costs more than the fish? This made absolutely no sense. $3 for extra tofu? I could’ve just ordered another bowl of miso soup. Again, we didn’t mind paying and it’s not about the money but I felt like they took advantage of us.

We didn’t complain the entire time we were there considering the service was very slow and took over an hour to receive our food. We didn’t complain when the rolls got messed up. We didn’t try to argue when we saw all the up charges, we just paid and still tipped 18%.

I always believe that it’s important to be honest with your customers. DOING WHAT IS RIGHT AND FAIR WILL GET YOUR BUSINESS SUCCESSFUL.

If you do want to try this place out, don’t ask for anything extras and be prepared to find parking and wait a long time for your food. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Good luck. We’ll...

Visited Sushi House for the first time with friends around 6pm on Saturday night. They weren't too busy and we were able to sit immediately. The waitress and other staff members were kind, quirky, attentive, and personable. They weren't serving alcohol yet but we were told they will be in mid to late August. The sushi rolls were moderately priced with a few "traditional" rolls like the Philly and the Spicy Tuna starting at $6.49. Rolls generally skipped from $6-7.49 to $11-13 so I would've liked to see maybe one or two more under $10. My group ordered a variety of rolls, sashimi, and iced waters. Unfortunately, the wait for our food was excruciatingly long. We were in the restaurant for over 45 minutes before our food made it to the table. And when it did, one in our party had to wait another few minutes for her food to come out. I feel like this kind of wait time is inevitable at this location due to the size of the kitchen (from what we could see) and the fact that you could only max have one or two people making sushi at one time. There were plenty more tables to be filled the whole time we were dining and I can't imagine how they'll handle this when they are busier. However, the sushi redeemed the whole experience. It was so fresh-tasting that it immediately became the best sushi I may have ever had. The veggies were crisp and bright, the fish was perfect, and the ratio of ingredients in the rolls was well-balanced. Rolls with cream cheese had only a light line through the roll allowing the other ingredients to shine. The sauces were amazing and I feel pretty strongly that they were homemade rather than bottled. The 50 cent up charge for a side of sauce is worth it as the poration size...

Tonight was our first time eating there, after months of wanting to try it out. Soooo glad we did!!! First thing- the service was phenomenal!!! Our waitress Courtney was super friendly, and had that second Sense of knowing when your water needed topping off, when to clear Away plates you were done with, smiling, and friendly. When I say friendly, I mean genuinely Sweet, and friendly. Not the kind of fake nice, like it's forced because it's her job and she has to be, and is hoping for a good tip. She was a true sweety pie, and we didn't have to wait, or ask, or remind her at all. Second thing- the food!!! 🍣🍥 OMG!!! It was the Best sushi I've had in a long time! You could see, and smell how fresh it was, before you even had your first bite! I was full halfway through, but still ate it all, because it tasted that amazing! Then, I had the banana tempura for dessert, LoL . It was the most amazing dessert i've had in... I don't know how long!!! Again, I was full after a few bites, but still stuffed my gullet and ate half ( it was a big dessert) just because it was so amazingly yumptious! I also tried Saki for the first time, and it went amazing with the food. Needless to say, hubby and I have a new sushi place. Also, the prices were very reasonable, especially for the amount of food, and the fresh quality. The atmosphere was very nice, laid back, yet classy. I can't wait to go back again. I hope we have Courtney as our waitress again, but that being said, any staff person we spoke to was very nice, and friendly. It's a place you go, and feel instantly welcomed. I highly recommend it. Great place for a first date, or a bite with friends. I love you...
