If you are trying to decide what Greek restaurant to eat at, choose Mamas. I went for my mother’s 81st birthday and all I have to say is WOW! This restaurant was the BEST Greek restaurant I’ve had in a long time. The food was soooo fresh and so tasty. My daughter has many allergies and she was taken care of and it was very safe for her to eat. It was actually the only restaurant in the area that accommodated to her food allergies. We ordered the lamb and it was so tender, delicious, and cooked to perfection! We had Sia as our waitress and let me just say we LOVED HER! She was super super sweet and her personality was so bubbly and friendly!! She was so attentive and took care of my mother like she was family. We went on a Friday night and there was live music and everyone was singing and dancing, it was a beautiful experience. My 81 year old mother even got up and danced and our waitress Sia offered to record this amazing moment! We couldn’t get enough! The service 10/10, the food 10/10, the atmosphere 10/10, overall experience 10/10…. And you know the food HAS to be delicious if Greek people are eating there as well!

My husband my son and I showed up and were seated at 6:38pm. We said we had a table of ten coming, they seated us outside the waitress gave us waters and then when everyone else arrived it took the waitress 45 minutes AFTER approaching her at the bar to come give the rest of us drinks. I Approached her at 7pm and told her I understand she’s busy but if she could bring us some waters that would be great (She never gave me my drink, I asked several times). Around 7:45 she brought 5 waters. She then wrote down all of our drinks, all of our appetizers and told us she’d bring the drinks right over. She brought two drinks then disappeared. Then around 8pm she finally decided to come back to the table, trying to take our orders for entrees, she then said “I’m out of tickets let me go grab some paper I’ll be right back, two seconds” She came back 25 minutes later at that point we just wanted to leave, after seeing several couples come and go who had already ate. When we told her we had been waiting for over an hour just for her to get the drinks to us, she screamed “you haven’t been here for an hour” turned around and walked away. At this point I went inside and told the lady at the front desk what was going on, she did send someone else out to give us our waters, and the “new waitress” was very nice. Then she disappeared and the original waitress came back and threw our appetizers on the table, walked away without providing us with any silverware or once again taking our drink orders. We decided we weren’t going to order anything and we wanted to leave, except two of us who wanted to eat still. As we’re waiting for everyone to finish the appetizers, and their salads and soup a bus boy went to pull a light on a ceiling fan that then fell on a table. We waited until 9 to get the check that we asked for several times after canceling the new order, then we had the “owner” come over and then argued with us, after we repeated we didn’t want to complain we just wanted to leave at this point. He then tried to argue and fight everyone, which is all on film. Needless to say good luck if you eat here! Highly unrecommended.

Bad service, worse food. Our family came to Mama's on mother's day. We had a group of 9 people. A sweet lady on the street was passing out flyers. We decided to try something new and were beyond disappointed. When we first got to the restaurant, a very rude server told us there was no room inside, despite being told by the woman on the street that there was room for us. We had my 87 year old grandma with us and were forced to sit outside. The server (bright pink lipstick, mole above her lip, and angel wing necklace) very rudely told me that there was no room and that the woman on the street had no idea what was happening inside of the restaurant and that she would know. We were then taken to a table outside. We waited about 15 minutes before a server (short Hispanic woman) came to our table. We placed our food and drink orders at the same time. We waited about another 45 minutes for our food. When the server brought out the food, 8 plates were cold and one was cooked wrong. The meat and all of the sides were ice cold. The server never came back to check on us after dropping off our food. I got up & went inside to get a manager. They explained that they could recook the food, but it would probably take at least half an hour. The manager never came to our table to check on any of us. My plate that was cooked wrong was brought back as the rest of the table ate stone cold food. The food was full of grease and the chicken was undercooked. The server only came back once besides dropping off checks. Waiting to get our bills paid took almost half an hour. Nobody offered to take anything off the bill. And by the time we had to get up ourselves to go pay our own tab, management didn't even remember who we were.

Seems like a nice little mom and pop shop. The food was ok. Nothing authentic and definitely not fresh. The service was absolutely terrible. The gyro only came in a lamb/beef option. The side sald was sloppily put together. The gyro bread was not heated, and the ingredients were not evenly spread through the sandwich, tomatos were together, and tzatziki sauce was all in one area. The onions still had the paper skin on them. The veggies in the gyro were huge and not cut to bite-size portions. The service was disgraceful, a major disappointment. Our waitress was in a hury every time she came to our table. She didn't even listen when we placed our order. She messed up our order multiple times wv6en though we corrected her. Other waiters seemed more attentive to their tables. The owner and his wife stood around watching but failed to be attentive when customers needed service their servers were not providing. We requested to go boxes and our check. The server brought our boxes, no check. Then greeted and took drink orders, served drinks, and then took food orders for 5 other tables, ignoring every cue we gave to get her attention. We had to request our check from the lady obliviously atanding at the cashier who got extrmely upset we did t continue to wait for our waiter to being us the check. Umm. We already waited 20 mins after we got our boxes and requested our check.. Why is our server not bringing our check? Overall, the portion size was ok, and the food was edible. But eating out is about the entire experience, and the terrible service impacts our choice to never come back. There are many other restaurants on the strip we will use with much more respectful and caring customer service.

This place was “Eh”. Was sitting out in the plaza when someone passed me a flyer with their menu and a coupon for a “free saganaki” (flaming cheese appetizer) with the purchase of two entrees and they said “come in for lunch”. Figured why not everyone talks about mamas. Once seated they refused to honor the coupon for their lunch menu and said it couldn’t be used in their lunch menu. I figured that was really annoying that they’re passing them out during lunch but oh well I’m still hungry. Ok so moving on to the food. I got a gyro since that’s what I was craving and half the reason I went to tarpon springs. It wasn’t bad at all but it wasn’t great. I could have gotten the same quality gyro through a Salem’s drive through without the drive out there. The side salad was good no complains there. The lettuce was crunchy and the cheese fresh. The environment- it’s HOT in there and I say this in the kindest of ways. The doors were open and the fans were going but not sure here was AC. We went in January and ended up sitting outside because at least there was a breeze. The drinks- the margarita wasn’t good at all, tasted like something that came out of a Walmart premix container. Overall was a letdown and can now see it’s a total tourist trap. Will not be going back and will not be recommending. It’s a shame because the Greek food out there it’s usually fantastic.

We have been to Tarpon Springs many times and after multiple times of being offered coupons for Mama’s we decided to go check it out. Once we got there we were seated promptly and our waitress was great she got straight to taking our order. Another woman rushed over and brought us bread my grandmother immediately started eating it as well as my son. When I reached in the basket to grab my own piece I noticed red droplets on the napkin and a couple on the tops of the slices of bread. I alarmed my family and we promptly sat the bread back down and hoped for the best. (Maybe it’s strawberry sauce) while looking around to grab an employee’s attention we noticed the woman who had brought us the bread setting a table with a bloody thumb exposed and actively leaking. The once clean white napkins that the silverware was rolled in on the fresh table with more splatters of bright red BLOOD! When we notified the manager she grabbed the bread and walked back as if they blood wasn’t a big deal. No apologies to us at all and all of our stomachs were too turned to continue to eat there. I believe the food was probably good but being clean and sanitary is number one! Number 2 being customer service and if your customers almost consumed blood because of a negligent employee you shouldn’t act non-chalant about that as if it’s no big deal.
