My husband and I were looking for a comfortable but upscale dinner option the other night, and came across Tangled Up In Blue. As soon as we walked in we instantly liked the vibe, calm, welcoming with just enough sparkle. The table by the fireplace was perfect.
The staff was wonderful, knowledgeable and able to answer our questions and make great recommendations. We started with the crab cakes. This is kind of a "go to" app for my husband and I, meaning we've had many, and I am not joking when I say, these were by far some of THE best either of us has ever had. To add to the amazingness, the side of curry sauce complimented the dish in a way I've never experienced. I've never had a curry sauce with a crab cake before, but it definitely worked.
For the second course, we had the lobster bisque, and let me tell you, the broth was so flavorful, and the chunks of lobster in the soup were tender and amazing, just like butter. There wasn't a lot of cream either, just a splash, so it was much lighter than I've had before.
My husband had the beef wellington, which was to die for, accompanied by some potatoes and asparagus. I had the special, which was halibut with a curry sauce, mushroom risotto and asparagus.
Not that we needed it, but we topped off the night with one of the best cups of coffee I've ever had, and a chocolate torte cake.
The evening was perfection. If you are looking for a place to dine in, that is quaint and welcoming you need to swing by on a Friday or Saturday night. Make a...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped in for dinner on 12-15-18 after making reservations earlier in the day. A quaint, gem of a restaurant is what we found after years of driving by it without realizing it was a restaurant. We started with an appetizer of crab cakes and were most likely the best cakes we have eaten! They were just about solid crab meat with little filler other than the panko coating that were piping hot with a delicious garlic dill aioli. Next was a seafood bisque that was excellent as well with nice chunks of seafood! My wife had the evening special seafood boil of lobster, scallops, shrimp, andouilli sausage and vegetables with a garlic burre blanc sauce - she loved it! I had the duck breast ala orange in which the chef prepared perfectly! They only have a hand full of menu items as the chef prepares everything fresh. The restaurant is small as well, in which it has to be in order for the chef to give his patrons his personal touch, the chef delivered our main courses and checked on us at the end of the meal. They also have about 30 or so wines to choose from that were very reasonably priced. Thank you for a delicious meal as we will...
Read moreMy husband and I went for a lovely dinner, the reataraunt is small so in the summer reaervations recommended for sure. They offer to take your coat whick is a nice touch in the winter. We had the Beef Wellington med rare is standard and really the only way it is done, it was a melt in the mouth dish flavorful and presented beautifully with vegies cooked with 5spice and mashed potatoes with a dark brown gravy glistening. I had the salmon in a special preparation layered with a creamy cheese and light pastry, the cream sauce with capers was just enough to add layers of flavor without ruining the pastry. They purchase their meats and seafoods for each day as it comes. Not getting leftovers here. I imagine during the busy season it may take longer, but they keep your waters full and beverages too so time passes easily. My dinner was in the top 10 meals I have ever had. Lovely night, i will be back. Only thing I would change is to saute the bananas foster tableside as well as the flambe;, a small one burner cart with the ice cream (and add cherries jubilee as another choice)..... I love this place, it has parking and is...
