It was our first time coming here. Oddly it was because another Mexican restaurant was backed up and I was sooo in the mood for a great Mexican dinner. I was not disappointed. The wait was not bad at all, the normal about 15 minutes. The chips were fresh and crispy. Not oily like some other places. Just right!! The salsa had some heat to it. THANK YOU!!! To many places think mild is the way to be. It was just right. Didn't burn the mouth out but had the zing. We got the chimichanga and enchilada combo. Both with the shredded beef. These things were fat and plump. A lot of beef in them. The guacamole was fresh and tasty. This meal was tasty all the way down to the refried beans and rice. A really good portion of tasty food and an excellent price. Inside the building is more of that hole in the wall feeling. So if you are looking for high end this is not it. It is that down to home comfortable feeling. As I was walking out a man came in to play the guitar for live music. This place is a hidden gem. I can't wait to go back. Thank you for the...
Read moreI'm so sorry that I have not left a review before because I have been enjoying their food for years! The food and service from this family owned and run restaurant is truly second to none in this valley, and among Mexican food, in my humble opinion it is THE BEST! The make everything from scratch. Their chips, sauces, tortillas are so good and their recipes and spicing for the meats are magnificent!
One of the ways I personally judge a Mexican place is by their Al Pastor and by their Carne Asada. Las Cazuelas has some of the best I have ever had, even while in Mexico. Many of my friends say the same and with see why I've never taken them there before.
Tonight I had the super nachos with Al Pastor and it was spectacular!! There was all the good stuff in every bite.
When you get a hankering for some good Mexican, give this place a try! You won't be sorry. A day without good Mexican food is like a day...
Read moreFor some unknown reason, nearly every Utah Mexican restaurant feels like they need to slather every item they offer in gallons of slimy refried beans, mounds of rice and several pounds of melted cheese. Now I like melted cheese just as much as the next guy, but when it takes an expedition just to get thru the cheese until you finally get to the entree, that’s where I draw the line. Las Cazuelas didn’t disappoint! They DO have menu items that were slathered, but offered a good number of authentic items that had the perfect amount of toppings. It was apparent that everything was fresh too; especially their vegetables. The atmosphere is akin to the “hole-in-the-wall” restaurants seen in “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” which isn’t always a bad thing. Those places are usually where the best food is. Though I wouldn’t drive too far out of my way to eat here again, I’ll definitely visit again if I’m...
