This place has low standards and it shows in the food your given. They are busy allot because the acess to and from the interstate and residences makes it a fast visit but that is no excuse to have lazy staff and limited understanding of basic english communication. When the dinning room was open, service was more consistent however, of all the local Salt Lake county McDonald's locations this one has consistently been the worst experience I have had using the drive through specifically. I started by ordered a two large drink cups of vanilla ice cream, plain with no toppings. I've ordered this many times at other stores without fail but this place just couldn't understand my request. The person who answered at the speaker box could barely understand my words so she just went silent . After explaining to her three times she finally said ok. I also ordered a big Mac and spicy nuggets. Since the attendant seemed to be ignoring me and despite her accent I did try my best to describe what to was wanting in detail however, since she was barely listening and responding to me she actually charged me for two ice cream cone instead of the 4 mc flurries so they would equal the cost of that much ice cream. I always have them charge me in this way so in fairness they make a profit. When I pulled up to the payment window that's when found out I was only charged for the two ice cream cones, I explained to the new attendant face to face that the order he repeated back went wrong. Since this was a different person from the one who took my order I once again reiterated my original order request but dispute that he still wasn't sure what I meant by two large soda cups of vanilla ice cream. Perhaps he understood but didn't know how to enter it. He decided to ask his manager and she explained what to do. At this point I was relieved and pleased expecting all to be well. I pull up to the final window and I'm handed 2 mc flurries covered in oreo. I declined them and calmly explained the error and again I was met with confusion. This time I pointed to a large drink cup, explained all over again. The manager said I needed to pay for an additional mcflury so I happily agreed. She took my card and charged me but never refunded the two ice cream cones. A small amount like that I didn't bother about it however I requested the receipt and was only given the original one. I took my order and headed home excited to have my ice cream but sadly it doesn't end with that. As long as this tale is, It must be told. I eagerly set my tray and my plate, got my favorite movie going and readied the hot fudge. I remove my two big Mac's and my three boxes of nuggets. My excitement inturned to disappointment when I realised the spicy nuggets I so graciously ordered were indiscriminately replaced with regular nuggets. At this point I decided one more hit for the team was ok. I opened my Bigmac to add some extra sauce and I was greeted with a meat patty so thin that I decided instead of measurement it I would share a photo. Both patties were mis shapen and pounded into oblivion. I could have ordered a big Mac "hold the meat" as it was so thin. The thing that brings me to sadness is that it cost me three hours of hard work to pay for an experience that began with poor language skills, an inability to say "I need help or I didn't understand what you said", and which further evolved into a complete disconnect with what I asked for and expected to get based on mcdonalds advertising. To leave so unsatisfied and betrayed made the decision for me by sharing this moment with all of you and now I'm crossing this place off my list. I want to say that the downtown MCDONALD'S knows me well and I just ask for the ice cream and the staff instantly knows who I am, they prepare it perfect every time and I leave happy. This proves my request isn't unreasonable, Its easier than having to shuffle 12 ice cream sunday's that are melting when. I can have it all put in one cup. Included is a photo of the mutilated BigMac. I happen this info proves...
Read moreWe passed at least 2 other McDonald's restaurants to come to this one because of one key feature. We have a very active 4-year-old son, and this particular restaurant has a PlayPlace where he can climb and slide and jump to his heart's content and in an enclosed area where he can be supervised without fear of him running off into parts unknown, or worse, getting snatched or assaulted at a city park, so when we decided to get lunch, I thought about a McDonald's with a PlayPlace. We can kill two birds with one stone. We all get to eat, and our son gets to safely play. It was great.
This McDonald's has self-ordering kiosks, and if you dine in, they have servers who will bring your food to your table. You can self-assign a number tent and place it on your table so the server can find you.
The restrooms are the cleanest and most sanitary you will find at a McDonald's, and there's a reason for that. On top of the automated toilets, sinks, soap dispensers, and hand dryers, the restrooms are also for patrons of the restaurant only, and they are kept locked. If you need to use it, you have to talk to an attendant at the counter so they can "buzz you" into the restroom. They are able to keep their restrooms clean and free of graffiti, garbage, and other unwanted and unsightly artifacts and relics typically left at restrooms in restaurants like this.
The staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable of their establishment.
My wife and I were thinking, you could always pay admission for yourself and our son to go to a professional playroom and then pay extra for food and/or games, or we could make a short drive to this McDonald's, not worry about paying an entrance fee, pay for some food to enjoy because we most likely would want to eat something anyways, and let our son safely play. It's win-win-win all the way around.
Thank you, McDonald's! Taking our very hyperactive son out to a restaurant has always been a chore and very stressful. This experience made it so...
Read moreTook 20 minutes to get a single sandwich. I tired using the kiosk and the first one had a broken credit card scanner so I tried to print my receipt to pay at the counter and it had no receipt paper. The second kiosk wouldn't accept my promo since it was used up by the first broken kiosk. So I try and order a different promo and at payment the credit card scanner was also broken and showing the wrong total. So I again tired to print my receipt to pay at the counter and again the machine was out of paper. So again another promo code was invalidated ppermanentl. The third kiosk too my order and the credit card scanner worked but it didn't print a receipt. Apparently filling these kiosks with paper is something the employees are just incapable of figuring out.
I waited another 15 minutes for my single sandwich order. Many people who ordered after me and had much larger orders all got their food before me. The whole time I was waiting there were just 2 employees standing at the register doing literally nothing instead of helping prepare orders or taking orders to the pickup line. At one point there were actually people in line waiting to place an order at the counter and only one register was busy. The cashier who was not busy never offered to help the other customers waiting in line by saying "I can help whoever is next" or anything to that effect. She just stood there staring into space until the person in line realized there was another register after a couple minutes.
Half the customers who ordered at the register only did so because the damn kiosks...
