We were in search for some coney dogs tonight when we came across Dolls N' Burgers. We decided to give them a try and this being our first time, we had high hopes.
First off, the guys working tonight were very polite and welcoming. So first impressions were great. We placed a carry out, our food order was completed surprisingly fast. They accommodated me with a drink carrier which was appreciated, because my hands were full.
Arrived home and everything looked good at first glance. The hotdogs and buns were really good but the coney sauce wasn't sauce....lol It was loose seasoned meat and I would say overly seasoned, the taste of the "sauce" was very dry and dried our mouths out.
But everything else was really good. But that sauce wasn't a traditional coney sauce and I really wouldn't call it a coney dog, not by Detroit standards. The french fries were really good and we ordered a large onion pedal side which was really good as well.
The price I question, it doesn't reflect the price on the menu. We ordered the double coney meals with small fries and a drink for $14 each / $28.00, the large onion pedal was $7.50...so we are at $35.50 + $2.14 tax + 15% tip at $5.65.....total approximately $43.29 roughly....we were charge $53.+
I didn't catch it there and plus not being sticker shocked anymore due to Bidenomics, I didn't think about it until we got home. Maybe the guy hit something on the register he shouldn't have, idk. Also considering that prices can change with out notice. I have seen scams before but I really don't want to go in that direction.
At the end of the day, we decided the hotdogs were awesome, probably won't do coneys anymore that search will still continue but we will return to try other things, so I only rated 3 out of 5 stars because we are still on the fence. Maybe our next visit will be even better.....please change the coney sauce because if the sauce was actual sauce, this would had been a 10 out of 5...
Read moreNot much value. Good food but waaaaaaay too expensive for the serving size. Also, what’s the point of a drive through if they make you park till your food is ready and don’t bring out any condiments to go with your food. Not much is as annoying having to go inside a place during a pandemic when you thought you were getting car service. Stay home and fire up your grill it’s safer and cheaper. We spent close to $30 for one single cheeseburger, one double cheeseburger combo (comes with a tiny drink and fry), an order of cheese curds (had to go retrieve sauce for them), and a chocolate “malt” that didn’t seem to have malt in it (tiny as the drink).
Update: My wife really liked their fries and talked me into a second trip through their drive thru. She wanted a fry and a drink. So I ordered a single cheeseburger combo. I found that the single combo is 25 cents cheaper than full-priced ala carte. It was $1 more to get a double combo. Not much value in that combo. Our experience was again aggravated when we had to turn around, drive back, and I had to once again go back inside cause the Pepsi tasted like soda water. Instead of the employees taking me on on my word one guy dispensed some into a cup and stared at me while tasting it. Then said "yup it's bad". However the other girl at the counter was nice. Twice now I've tried their drive thru, twice I've had to mask up and come inside.
To the owner/ manager: I have also since my second trip out seen the response in the reviews. You may want to read more carefully. I wasn’t upset about time. If you want people to receive compensation for Doll N Burger's short comings you need to leave them...
Read moreJust tried Doll n' Burgers for the first time. Tecumseh location. I ordered a single with ketchup, mustard, mayo, and lettuce. It was a tasty burger. It was rather small, but that's okay as it tasted good. I liked the bun a lot. It was really good. The lettuce was fresh. Service was normal. Not super fast but certainly not slow. Staff were very friendly.
**edit: I didn't know it came with something called "Doll Sauce!!" I just asked for what I normally get on my burger. I'll be trying it again, for science!
Overall, I give it 4.5 out of 5 (I'm posting as a 5 as Google won't let you do half points). I am not giving it a 5 yet (even though I kinda am, to the benefit of DnB) as I was only able to try the burger, and while it was good, it was not mind blowing beyond the rather unique bun. I do feel like the double is the way to go to get a bit more of that good beef (first time here, wanted to start small). And I'll redo and update my review upon trying more items and the double. Overall though, it's absolutely worth a visit and your dollars. It's better than any other fast or fast casual food in Tecumseh. Give them a try, even if the...
