ASK TO SEE THE SECRET UPSTAIRS!! For Day #16 of spooky adventures in Arizona, we’re at @caseymoores9thandash in Tempe. It’s one of my personal fav late night spots when I have the munchies. I always grab a beer & a pasta with shrimp. But what people don’t know to ask for, is a chance to see the upstairs where a lot of spooky things have happened…. In 1910, the Casey Moore’s house was built by a couple named Mary & William. They both died in the house 😵 then, it was abandoned with a rumored brothel going in… not confirmed. What is confirmed however is the 1973 purchase of the home to be transformed into “Ninth and Ash” and then later in 1986 into “Casey Moore’s Oyster House”. The spirits of Mary and William (along with the people who died here during the abandoned years) are said to haunt the place. It’s happened several times that the police have been called at 4am due to a “window light” weirdly being on. The cops haven’t found anything. You can go to paranormallegacy.com to read more about a paranormal investigation that went on here - it’s mental! Definitely try Casey Moore’s and let me know what you think of the upper level if they let you go up :) FOLLOW FOR MORE!!! #tempe #tempeaz #tempearizona #spooky #arizona #explorearizona #caseymooresoysterhouse #wildjoy

This outdoor pop-up market is coming back to Casey Moore’s on Saturday, February 10th! 🌿 At the Back Alley Market you can enjoy live music, shop handmade and secondhand, meet the humans behind the brands and businesses, and immerse yourself in the Tempe community. After spending your Saturday strolling around the market, feel free to mosey on over to @caseymoores9thandash for a patio beer or late lunch. 🍻 This monthly pop-up market occurs on a monthly basis, so be sure to stay up to date on upcoming market dates by following @back.alley.market. We also recommend reaching out to them if you wish to be a vendor in future markets. 🔖 📍 850 S Ash Ave, Tempe, AZ 85281. #ourtempe #tempe #arizona #phoenix #tempetourism #visittempe #localmarket #tempemarket #phoenixmarket #smallbusiness

It was pretty average in terms of service and below average food quality / flavor. / value for the food price. The beers were well priced at $5 for the beer of the day. The server brought those promptly.

First, Istarted off by ordering an appetizer of calamari, and even though there was only of me at the table, the server had put in an order for the full size which is meant to serve two or three people. It came out quickly and was hot and tender inside; but it was that convenience processed US Food; so it was well seasoned coating but a really salty--non salt flavor-- on the outside. I would never have wanted to eat that much of it.

Further, I told the server to please make sure that I only had the half order before too much time in the passed, yet she brought up the full one and said "You get the full order." I told her "You Know, that's too much for one person, as you can see; and I was hoping to try some other things." To that she replied "Yeah, I get that." but she didn't take care of me and she didn't inform a manager her mistake.

Restaurant owners, this is the reason why a manager or owner should visit every table a few minutes after the entrees arrive at the table. Ask very specific questions "How do we do on getting your order right? Did it come out hot and delicious?" No visit from a manager.

If i go back, which isn't likely unless I'm just going to go back for drinks, I would ask to see the manager to correct that, because clearly at that is something any of us who have ever waited tables knows to take care of, in order to ensure happy clients and larger tips.

Of course I tipped well anyway at 20 percent. The server was very amicable and so were the other staff members that I encountered in passing as I walked in or went to the restroom.

There were only five tables occupied in the entire place, as I arrived there at 11:00 when they opened.

The turkey and avocado sandwich they ordered on croissant was not flavorful and the croissant was not fresh. Normally, one would expect it to be soft and buttery on the inside with a little bit of flakiness on the outside. Instead, this was clearly several days old and dry inflate apart all over my shirt. The turkey was also flat and flavorless. The same can be said of the coleslaw I ordered on the side. Luckily for all concerned I had just come from a really heavy workout and haven't eaten breakfast that morning and I enjoyed too delicious hazy ipas. I can say that was the highlight of the entire visit, so next time I'll have a snack elsewhere and go there...

I was really looking forward to trying this spot as it’s been on my list for over eight months and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing last night due to how I was treated by the server.

When we first arrived, our server was nowhere to be found. He eventually showed up but continued to attend to another table that had arrived well after us before even taking our order. After waiting quite a while, I requested two samples of beers on draft. While waiting for those, I decided to simply get up and order a drink directly from the bar since it was right next to our table.

As I was walking back, I happened to cross paths with my server, who was standing at the corner of the bar. The bartender made a comment that only seemed to fuel the situation, and that’s when the server decided to confront me. He began arguing, saying that my decision to order directly from the bar “affects his tips” and that’s “how he gets paid.”

His tone was confrontational and dismissive, which made me feel incredibly uncomfortable and confused by his explosive reaction. After bringing the beers to my table, he continued to argue instead of simply moving on professionally. At that point, I had completely lost my appetite.

Out of curiosity, I asked a busser nearby if there was a manager on duty only to learn that the same server attending to my table was the manager on duty for the night. When I calmly told him I didn’t appreciate his unprofessionalism and aggressive behavior, he became even more agitated, raised his voice, and told me to “just get up and leave” and to “never come back,” adding that I didn’t even need to worry about my tab.

At one point, I honestly couldn’t tell if he was more upset about the beer itself or because a woman was standing up for herself and refusing to tolerate his attitude. Either way, it was completely unacceptable behavior for someone representing an establishment.

I have never been treated with such disrespect at any restaurant. It’s deeply disappointing that a place I was genuinely excited to try would allow an employee with such poor professionalism and lack of customer service to represent them. This left such a distasteful end to my night - such pitiful, disrespectful behavior all...

So first of all I wanna say I have always really liked this place and have been here several times. I've never had any issues here until the other day. I invited some friends to come meet for some good food, drinks and a good time. We did have a good time overall and the server was great! Only issue I had was I had told my friends that last time I was there I ordered the linguine with Cajun sauce and blackened Shrimp and that it was amazing!! that i would actually go back just for that because it was so awesome! Well a couple of them tried it as well as myself and it was very different from what I had gotten the last time. This time for some reason the sauce was a pinkish color and didn't taste anything like what I had gotten before and didn't look the same either. We are it but I could tell they were not at all impressed and one them only ate a few bites because he just didn't like it and it was not what he expected. I felt bad and it made me look pretty bad for talking so highly about it. I don't know if maybe it got put in the computer wrong or if the cook was new and didn't know how to make it properly or what, but it really disappointing and again it made me look pretty stupid for saying how great it was. Pretty sure they won't value my opinion on food anymore after that......... I'm actually a Culinary Graduate and worked in restaurants for a long time so I like people to know they can trust me when I say something or recommend...
