King and Cardinals Bakery in Tempe has truly brought a taste of home to Arizona! As a franchise of the beloved King's Bakery in Secunderabad, it’s like stepping into a time machine that transports you back to childhood memories. The flavors are absolutely spot-on; it's a genuine restoration of the deliciousness we remember. From their savory snacks to their sweet treats, every bite evokes that nostalgic feeling. Room for Improvement While I adore the authentic taste, I must express some disappointment regarding the pricing. It's been just a couple of weeks since their grand opening, and the prices have already seen a significant increase, which is a little painful for customers. For instance, the thought of a paan costing $4 is way too expensive, making it an indulgence that's hard to justify. Similarly, a $2 increase on their sandwiches adds up quickly, making this place quite pricey for regular visits. A Sweet Suggestion It would also be fantastic if King and Cardinals Bakery could bring their amazing milkshakes to Tempe! Those were a childhood favorite, and they would be the perfect addition to an already great menu. Final Thoughts While I genuinely want to revisit King and Cardinals Bakery to enjoy their amazing food and relive those cherished memories, the steep prices are a significant deterrent. As much as I'd love to give them a perfect 5-star rating for bringing my childhood memories back to Arizona, the overpricing unfortunately makes me leave a 1-star rating here. I sincerely hope they will reconsider their pricing to make it more accessible, encouraging us to visit more often and truly make this a...
Read moreI recently visited King and Cardinal in Tempe, and it was a flavorful experience that’s hard to forget. If you love burgers and aren’t afraid of spice, this place will speak your language. We started with the Bhuna masala Wings, and they were absolutely fire juicy, smoky, and loaded with just the right amount of kick. The standout was definitely the Spicy Classic Chicken Burger. It had that home-style ground chicken feel, marinated with Indian spices, and it paired so well with the fresh veggies and the house mayo. It’s a burger, but not your average one think desi flavor bomb in a bun.
If you're bored of basic burgers and want something that brings the heat and heritage together, King and Cardinal is definitely worth the visit. Just know what you're signing up for—flavor-packed food with bold Indian twists.Drinks-wise, The “fresh lime” drink that was described as Sprite with chat masala actually reminded me of the Nimbu soda I grew up with tangy, fizzy, and intentionally spiced. It might not suit everyone, but for those of us who enjoy desi flavors, it’s a nostalgic treat. Service was fast and friendly, even though it was a busy time. The staff checked on us and made sure we were happy...
Read moreI highly recommend King and Cardinal at Southern and Mill! The food is excellent and the staff are really helpful and exceptionally nice.
I had the Masala Hamburger, with french fries, an Iranian chai, and Masala ice cream. The Masala Hamburger was fantastic, an amazing blend of flavors with just the right kick of spice for a comfortable burger. The french fries were solid, but the sandwich really was the centerpiece. The Masala ice cream was good and I recommend it as well. The iranian chai was thick and steaming hot and seems like a perfect winter drink; I still like it in the summer, personally, the taste is good.
The staff was similarly friendly and kind. When I left in a hurry and forgot my to-go ice cream, the staff went above and beyond to make sure that I got it - they sent me a text and when my friends returned for food a few days later the staff gave them the ice cream for me to get. The staff also have excellent recommendations for what to get.
My friends got the Mutton Burger, Chicken Tikka Burger, onion samosas, and spicy chicken wings. All were reported as superb.
Also good portions and...
