Whoever owns this place needs to get it together. They need to gather it all in a pile and get it together. They need to grab a push broom and sweep it all into a single area and get it together.
This is a nice building. That's it. It's being poorly taken care of. This place reeks of a bad franchise owner, someone who should never own a business let alone a franchise of a national brand.
The old McDonald's menu is still up next to the only new one, as if buying two was a waste of money. It's broken, missing placards, incorrect pricing and missing menu items.
The drive thru itself can be a 20+ minute trap if you happen to show up during a happy hour a.k.a. #wereonlyacceptingcashrightnow. No sign out front for what is often the 2 hour window they can't take cards, so you won't find out until you get to the first speaker. With as busy as it gets, you're trapped for literally up to 20+ minutes until the customers ahead leave. I've waited up to 40 minutes during busy nights just to leave without being able to order.
The poor employees all clearly just need the check. The shift supervisors are clearly IDGAF every night. I've done business with executives at Fortune 100 companies, so trust me when I say that when literally everyone seems exhausted and disengaged, it's not the people they hire, it's the people hiring.
Low quality food even for McDonalds. Every order seems to be made at the last minute, like the owner has given the directive not to risk his money on throwing things out. Stale buns, fries, patties are all far more common here than any other McDonald's. It reeks of bad business policy.
New staff often. In fact, I've been here during the day four separate times since August and not seen even one face twice. Contrast to other McDonalds, even other fast food in this area, there is a manager down the street at Burger King who's always on shift, always helping out, always makes a point to be visibly helpful. Where is the guy running this joint?
This place reminds me of the Wetzels Pretzels off Raintree in Scottsdale at Walmart. That man is a wildebeest, treats his people and even his customers like a casual, barely-funny joke, and after two times I had the displeasure of meeting him, I decided not to go back again. Same policy here.
To the owner: Get off your bum and run this business with some self-respect and gratitude. Any of your people can be engaged and learn skills here that make them an asset, and thereby make them proud and dedicated to make this a success for you. Every time I come across people like you, I want to walk you out your own front doors for the arrogance you have to invest this kind of money, ask this kind of time of other people, and have nothing but this kind of embarrassment as a result, given any of it. I'll give you the same advice a Product executive at Dell said about working from 5AM to 9PM 6 days a week: "If I cut back my hours now, I might as well cut back all of them. I'm not here for a paycheck. I'm here to succeed." Run this business or sell it off, man. Right now, you look like an idiot thinking this place is just going to run itself and pour cash into your...
Read moreJust wanted a sweet tea and a grilled chicken snack wrap. This isnt my normal McDonalds i've come to expect mediocrity from - that one was only accepting cash that i didnt have and i was on a sweet tea binge. So here I came. The guy on the other end then struggled for 5 minutes try to charge me for what showed up on the screen as a "Classic chicken". I repeated again that all I wanted was one grilled chicken snack wrap. He then places a grilled sandwich on my bill. I said again, one grilled chicken snack wrap. Not a sandwhich and only one. He tells me they no longer have grilled chicken "in that", and I said okay, give me a crispy chicken snack wrap then. The "Classic chicken" shows up again, but at this point I'd said snack wrap so many times that I figured maybe that's just what they show it as on screen now. Not a menu abbreviation expert here. I get to the pay window, and the young man states that he hasn't had a break and it is busy. We all have our days. Maybe he's new. He's probably stressed. Perhaps that break would do him well. I don't know. I say it's all good, pay, and go to the next window. I take my small bag that is roughly snack wrap weight and my sweet tea. The lady who gives me my bag just says "Your chicken". It smells like chicken. I think all is well. I get to my appartment, open the bag, and there is, of course, NOT the snack wrap. I know. I should have checked. Sadly, I open my substitute, a chicken sandwhich, only to get a burnt, greasy hockey puck of what might have been chicken. I just wanted my chicken tender with lettuce, cheese, and dressing wrapped in a tortilla that has, for a very very long time, been known as a snack wrap. Not a greasy burnt chicken patty slathered in sauce and a pickle, between two soggy buns that didn't make the cut for an actual burger. Maybe, since the menu rearranged, they don't have snack wraps anymore, which is fine, I would have ordered something else. Maybe I am crazy and it never existed. Still, for whatever reason, I feel a lot of...
Read moreThis is by far the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. A few months back it was an easy place to grab a cheap meal while going to Tempe Marketplace. It was always just alright, not the best, but the food was at least edible and the staff was pleasant. In recent months they have had some new staff members, but the worst one I've encountered is the cashier. He's a short guy, definitely on the younger side, and he speaks quietly. I can rarely hear him. After ordering and making sure my order is correct, I always pay in cash. Almost every time I'm in there he tries to short change me. I can't know for certain if it's intentional or not, but after a few times it feels like it is. When it's just a few cents I don't really care, I'd probably donate it to the charity anyway, but there was a time he shortchanged me by $10 and insisted I had paid with a $10 rather than a $20. He corrected it and I went on with my day. The newly remodeled interior is great, but this McDonald's now has a horrible fly problem; you can't go a few seconds without swatting them away. I went in earlier today and attempted to eat the $1 burger and a chicken sandwich, my usual. The flies caused me to struggle. The thermostat was actually higher than the temperature outside. Just being in there I felt quite ill. The chicken didn't taste right, and I decided I would never go back again. Two of my friends went with me today. One had been charged an extra dollar on his card; they claimed it wasn't working and had him run it a second time. The other was given a burger that was a bit undercooked. He does like his meat a little on the rarer side, but this patty had a bright pink center. The fries were pretty much the only thing we could all agree tasted acceptable as we escaped the fly infested McDonald's you could only imagine...
