I like big burritos and I cannot lie...and these are long too. This is one of my favorite little spots when I was hankering for some Mexican fare at work. The carne asada is good, and so is the polo asada. You will get more than enough to fill you up either way, and it will be tasty. The combos have plenty of flavor and portions, and if you like your burrito enchalada style, they will accommodate. The sauce is good, and as always you have choices between green, red or both. I never had to wait long for my food, and that can't be said for a lot of these types of places. One jem I really enjoy is the fish burrito. It has a great tasting breading and I was always impressed with the flavor and crispness. Definately not a bland piece of fish. I'm sure it would make a delicious fish taco, though I never did try that option. The shrimp burrito, too is another item I should not leave out. I'm not always willing to pay for a shrimp burrito, but when I do, Vaqueros never left me regretting my decision. They are delicious, and my mouth is watering for one as I type this up. I might need to make a special trip. So in short, Vaqueros has great food, great prices and fast service. What more can a Mexican food lover, like...
Read moreThis was once a go to spot back in the day. We ended up here because our now favorite spot was close for the week for remodeling. The prices are high than our normal spot. The Arizona (Cali) Burrito is $7.50 and it was good but lacked that burst of flavor I am use to. I gotta say their green sauce is very good, & the red is alright. We also ordered the 2 carne asada taco combo, it didn’t come with a drink. Our spot we go to gives a 20oz drink with all combos. For the same price. Rice and beans we’re decent. Also ordered two bean & cheese burritos with rice. Now this we usually pay $7 for two of these the same way. The menu showed bean and cheese for $4.65 ea. Not sure how much to add rice but the cashier rang up two bean and rice burritos @ $5.50 ea. & charge $2.10 for “extra cheese”. Total for two $13.10, $6.10 more than what we pay. The food was good and did the job. Now the spot I keep referring to is Polibertos! On Baseline Rd between Priest Dr and Hardy. The food their is reasonably price and very, very delicious. I do recommend to those craving authentic Mexican food. Big portions for a affordable price! Thanks Vaqueros, I’ll...
Read moreThe size of their burritos are crazy. When I come here it's because I am buying lunch and dinner. I have attempted to eat the whole thing and was met with a horrible full feeling. Not to say that it was bad it was tasty, their carnitas are great, just it was one of those my eyes are bigger than my stomach.
That aside I frequent this place as an option for my training classes as my co-workers love their breakfast burritos. I'll stop in before a class and grab a dozen or more of assorted burritos.
My only real complaint would be the salsa consistency. Some days I come in it tastes great others it's been too salty, watered down, or just off tasting; it seems kinda hit or miss. I can't complain about the service I get in I get my food then I'm out. They are fast but not much for chit chat. Overall though I'll still be stopping in at the least...
