The best boba, the best tea, the best environment. And when they bring dumplings to Temple: The best dumplings.
I was first introduced to thai tea while visiting Thailand many years ago, and I immediately fell in love. I love how prominent the tea flavor is, while still being creamy and slightly sweet. I probably drank 3-4 thai teas every day I was in thailand, and life was grand. When I got back to the US, I discovered that finding good thai tea is really hard. I went several years without it, until Cha Community opened in Waco and I saw it on their menu. I tried it and was taken right back to that first sip in Thailand. It's just so good.
I've since tried most of their menu items, and each one is as delicious as the next. I really appreciate that they use real tea instead of artificial powders. It tastes so much better and doesn't make me sick to my stomach like the fake stuff does.
If you're not a tea fan, try the galaxy lemonade. It's naturally purple, so it's also a hit with kids. My toddler is obsessed with his "purple tea."
When they bring dumplings to Temple, do yourself a favor and get some. They're amazing. They also have a dumpling kit that you can take home and assemble with friends or for an in-house date night.
My favorite orders: I'm not a big fan of sweet drinks, and 25% is perfect for me. Milky Way (thai tea) at 25% sweetness with boba Vietnamese Coffee (SO GOOD) at 25% sweetness Wacoco at 25% sweetness with boba For my son: galaxy lemonade (caffeine free!) at...
Read moreCha Community has become my weekly treat for myself. I have gone there nearly every week since they've opened. The boba has always been cooked perfectly! This place is great whether you want to grab a drink and go or you want to sit and hang out with friends for a while. I have tried the Waco Cha, Wacoco, Milky Way, and other drinks. Everything has been delicious! Please note that tapioca boba is not available until 1 hour after opening each day. Since I'm there frequently I joined their "Cha Club" which means I get a 10% discount on every order, a cute keychain, and a nice glass cup with a metal boba straw. They also have a free punch card for everyone so you earn a free drink after 10 purchases (it might be 9, I don't remember). I really like that they also have a seasonal section of their menu so that means there's often something new to try. I fell in love with their horchata (which is surprisingly good with tapioca boba!) in the fall so I'm a little sad I have to wait until next fall to get it again. Now that it's getting cold outside I want to try their hot teas. For food they have dumplings, cold noodles, and some baked goods (conchas & sugar cookies, for example). I've tried the cold noodles and thought they were the perfect lunch for summer. I need to try their dumplings. Overall, I'm so excited that Temple finally has a great place for boba tea! I especially love that it's a local business. If you like cold teas you should definitely...
Read moreCha Community started serving food so we made it a point to come by and try their food menu. Their milk teas are still awesome with real tea and different milk choices. The most recent one we've enjoyed was Pandan Coconut milk tea; one with 75% brown sugar boba; the other with coconut jelly. We'll get these again for sure. Some items on their food menu are: Takoyaki Taiwanese Cold Noodles Braised pork rice box Bbq pork bao
I'm not a cold noodle person, but surprisingly those were quite delish. Their bun was warmed up and you know how that goes - the dough becomes chewy. We'd recommend the braised pork.
This is an internet cafe with wall outlets next to each table for laptop workers. There's indoor and outdoor seating, some cushined chairs, and a comfy couch for loungers. The decor is warm with a nicely painted design.
Excellent friendly service tops off the tea cups with helpful information about the teas and options for how they're served. I hope you find this somewhat hidden spot in Downtown Temple and...
