Mr. Wok & Sushi — Restaurant in Tenafly

It was my first time having sushi here and I was very disappointed. The food was ok, the service was not so great but not too bad. But.... THE HYGIENE HERE WAS TERRIBLE. When the waiter introduced us to the table, there were some crumbs and dust on the chair. It looked like they didn’t clean it for a long time or after someone had food there. I kinda cleaned it myself, had a seat, and ordered some sushi and rolls. When we got the plates and cups they were really dirty. There were stains everywhere and some unwashed things... I asked the waiter to get a new cup but when the waitress gave me a new one, it was also dirty. Because every plate, cup and dish with food was dirty I couldn’t ask them for new dishes because it will be dirty anyway whether I get a new one or not. So I just gave up and had food. It looked like they didn’t clean dishes well... So I’m wondering if they clean tables, chair, dishes well... We also saw very little small two bugs on the table we were having food. We didn’t take any picture because it was gross... Luckily I didn’t had a stomachache or something after eating. I don’t think I will visit here again... I didn’t really felt I was welcomed to visit here. No one smiled and answered me back when I said hi, thank you or have a good day. They should know they need to care more about customer service. MOSTLY ESPECIALLY hygiene issues though... I attached some pictures so potential customers would see it and they also can see it. Hopefully they would manage these...

ARROGANCE!!! We've been in this town for 30 years. Have been going to this restaurant for more than 25 years. Food is fine. HOWEVER, we had an issue over the check as "regulars" at this establishment and we were referred to the manager. Calvin, the supposed "manager", couldn't care less about any concerns. He was totally dispassionate and wasn't even the least concerned about the "good customers" that have been coming to the restaurant regularly for many years. He said that he would pass our concerns to the owner, a Mister "Lee". He said that Mr. Lee would call me about my concerns. When Mr. Lee never called, I returned to the restaurant to tell Calvin that he never called me (I happened to be having dinner at the next door restaurant). I mentioned to Calvin that Mr. Lee never called and he stated that Mr. Lee would never call. Customer be damned!!! Enjoy your dinner and shut up!! Posting a review with hope the restaurant will recognize the need for cleaning. This place has enjoyed such a solid, positive reputation for so long. We were excited to go to dinner tonight. The lobby on the second floor is full of storage garbage like fake rabbits, boxes, and piles. The restaurant itself is so dirty that it is clear those owning it have grown blind to the debris piled on every counter and surface. Broken, stacked, things on the floors, leaning on walls, and any and every counter. After sitting and wondering of the sanitary problems, we were served rancid beef. The waitress and cook were nice to not charge for the plate, but honestly, it was so smelly that we were worried about food poisoning. This place had tons of online take out orders piled and being filled. It was concerning and gross to sit and witness the lack of clean counters, space, and clean food serving conditions. Owners-clean up the place. Throw away, wash down...
