I recently had the pleasure of ordering takeout from Tavlin in Tenafly, and I must say, their service was excellent and quick. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish.

Starting on a positive note the main dishes were delicious & portions were reasonable; however the chicken vegetable soup was over salted. The service was poor- we arrived pre dinner rush. Requested bread 3 times to make Hamotzi from 2 different people, after soup was served the bread arrived, needed to request water refill, waitress did not ask ask how the meal was or if we wanted anything else at any point, I had to go to the registered to request the bill & to wrap my leftovers. Additionally there were some flying insects that we had to shoo away from our food repeatedly. We couldn't even get anyone's attention to report the insects to. After the bill was placed on our table without any verbal acknowledgment we eventually walked up to register to pay the bill. Upon paying the bill at the registered we informed the waitress who also handled the payment of our disappointments because the ??owner/manager was on the phone taking phone orders. Expecting a Mediterranean restaurant and was excited after looking at the website's menu. Ambiance was mediterranean but minimal and cold. Service/kitchen was slow but the waitress did her best. Out of 7 meals at the table, most were edible and ok. My daughter's chicken wings came out with feather stems on every piece. The humus bowls were good but very rich and needed to be served with something acidic or green to cut the richness of the dishes. My husband got sick and could not finish his. Oh and the restaurant is a BYOB as long as your only bringing in Kosher beverages or they will be stopped at the door!
