First of all Iād like to say I never leave bad reviews. I get it, place have bad days, people have bad days. However after our last few trips here (itās my sonās favorite restaurant) Iām just over it. Last week I took my daughter for a quick lunch before a funeral. She ordered a chicken Cesar salad with a side of fries and I ordered the chicken won tons. Thatās it. We sat for a long time before a waitress came up to our table and when she did she REEKED of cigarettes so bad it was literally disgusting. Now people who smoke generally donāt bother me, so you can imagine how terrible and strong it was to have bothered me. She takes our order, brings back our drinks and we never see her again. 35 minutes later still no food. Still no server. I had to get up and go over to the bar where 4 employees were standing and ask them to just box our food up to go because we had been waiting so long and we had a funeral to get to. About 10 minutes later the allusive server brings our food out and we pay and leave. By the way, I walked through the restaurant trying to find someone, there were two other tables in the entire place. So not like they were swamped. Now this week. My husband and my son go back because again, itās his favorite restaurant. They are seated and after 15 minutes they have still never had anyone come up to their table. Tables around them were being served, but nobody came to theirs. They ended up getting up and leaving and going elsewhere because after 15 minutes nobody had even approached their table. Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were pretty disappointed in our last visit there. We ordered one of the "2 for $25" dinners and choose the 2 salads over the 1 appetizer. The salads were very poor with just a small amount of lettuce and a little bit of some very finely chopped tomatoes and cucumbers (I think!). It was so finely chopped that, frankly, it was a little difficult to tell just what those chopped bits were. There were about 4-5 croutons thrown in on top and that was what they called a salad. We (my wife and I) both ordered the steak for our entree and we both ordered it cooked "medium" but when it came mine was cooked about right with just a small amount of pink but hers had no pink whatsoever! It was more like "medium well" to "well" done. I suppose we could have said something and probably got a replacement but who wants to wait another 20-30 or so minutes waiting for that?!? In a lot of restaurants the server will have you cut your steak open when they bring it to you to see if it's done to your liking but no such offer was made when we got ours on this visit (or ever before either that I recall). We have frequented this restaurants quite a few times in the past and have never had such a poor experience as we had on this last visit. I get the feeling that they might be going downhill. The service was fast for as crowded as it was (a Sunday) however, the food was terrible!! I ordered the Bourbon Street Steak Pittsburg style and since they had no knowledge as to what that style was I ordered it rare. When it arrived the visual appeal was there but that is where it ended! It was the toughest peace of meat I had ever been served in a long time!! And folks Iāve been around the world several times and eaten in some dodgy places!! I did complain to the bar tender and he offered to comp it off but I refused. I asked him to have the manager just try cutting into it. He did talk to the manager but I never saw the manager cut into it. In all fairness the manager did comp ten dollars off the bill. The bartender did say he ādidnāt know what was going on back there (nodding towards the kitchen) becauseā¦ābut stopped short of saying anything else.
