I am visiting in town and found Taco Tequilas on Google Maps. It is .3 miles from my hotel so I thought I would walk there and give them a try. It is a Tuesday around 6 pm and this place was busy!!! People were outside at the tables and some were waiting inside. A very polite young man took my carry out order and quickly brought my drink out to me while I waited. The staff was calling customers by name and seating them as seats became open. Plus, the staff kept me updated on my order. Also, the customers were enjoying themselves. (I am a people watcher.) Once I made it back to the hotel and I was able to try the food I was hooked myself. I had gotten a taco salad, which I am picky about the shell, and usually leave the bottom. I ate ALL of my taco salad and the shell!! My son even loved his chimichanga dinner. I’m so glad I picked this restaurant out of several others that were close by or driving to one I was familiar with. I could actually eat another taco salad. My son wouldn’t let me try his dinner so I cannot give my opinion on his, but he did finish it off. The only thing that I can say is that they need a bigger place, but then again it may ruin the atmosphere. I will definitely order from them on future...
Read moreI usually don’t crave Mexican cuisine if I’m not outside my home state but once and a while there are exceptions! Luckily when researching a place, Taco Tequila’s was right near my hotel with a brisk walk. Taco Tequila isn’t entirely a huge restaurant, but they do draw in a decent crowd so if you are a bigger party you might have to wait. Arriving, I was seated almost promptly and was given a menu, water, and chips with dip to start. I wouldn’t say I’ve tried everything but everything I’ve tried has been quite enjoyable. The tacos are double the tortilla with nicely marinated meats, the fajitas are sizzling hot and fulfilling, and the fried Mexican ice cream packs a crunch! The people are nice, and the atmosphere isn’t stuffy, something I personally enjoy in a smaller space. They do serve alcohol with a variety. I usually get a whiskey, but I have tried their margaritas and pina coladas which are good too, just don’t give yourself a brain freeze! I’ve already been here more than once and when I’m in town I’ll probably come back for a quick taco fix. If you’re from the area you’ve most likely have tried it but if you haven’t,...
Read moreI came for Tacos and Tequilla and all I got was disappointment.
The person seating us was not very friendly and the outside table was dirty and sticky. They need to pressure wash more often. Our server however, was quite nice. The food presentation was not good or bad, just somewhere around middle of the road. If you are looking for good tacos, you might not find them here. I know most places don’t make real Al Pastor tacos, but these are way off. The chicken and Asada tacos were missing flavor too. There was no hot sauce to go with them, only the salsa provided with the chips. The margarita menu is quite simple and you get Lime, Strawberry, or Mango maybe.
Last night my wife got sick and lost her dinner. This morning it’s my mother in law. I’m glad I only had a taste of what they were sharing. My wife thinks the Churicueso is what got them sick, but how...
