Byrd's Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Texas

I'm assuming this place is pretty new, the soda machine wasn't working and we were told it would be an extra charge on TOP of paying for a combo to get a bottled drink because THEIR soda machine didn't work. I asked about the donut chicken sandwich that was on their menu and the guy who started taking our order had absolutely no idea about anything from the menu or that item. Then the cook from the back came out and took our order since the original guy walked away mid order to take a phone call, to top everything off, they were out of potato salad and mac and cheese. I asked for a receipt and the lady who was cooking said the printer wasn’t working so that was great too. Honestly, the over all experience was trash. I'd rather spend the same amount and actually get my drinks and sides THAT I PAID FOR that I didn't get here and go to Dave's. Makes sense why there was one person here besides the workers.

I had to write a review because I kept driving by this place for work and live right up the block from it, but didn’t know if it would be worth it. Finally stopped in about an hr ago and ordered just the 5piece plain wings with medium spicy rub (cause I wanted to make sure their chicken was seasoned without the sauce to cover it up). I JUST got finished eating it at home and OMG I should’ve got the 10piece! It was soooo good! They made it exactly how I wanted and the wings were a very decent size, meat was extremely juicy and well seasoned, and the skin was perfectly crisp and crunchy. I will start by saying that my review is based solely on the food. The inside of the store was clean but felt kind of empty, but the workers were kind and professional. Now unto the food which is the star of the show. There have been many hot chicken places opening in the area for a while now, and I have to say, this is the best chicken place to have opened up around here. Price is good for the phenomenal taste, the chicken sandwich and the loaded fries both so good I know I will be back a lot.
