Positives: -Our server, Rue, was absolutely amazing. She was so friendly, outgoing, and attentive, and apologetic for things that weren’t even in her control. -We both ordered the endless breakfast and a tea each, and it was a great deal for the price. Our total came out to $23 before tip. -The food tasted really great and was prepared exactly how we wanted
Negatives: -The poor hostess in the front seemed kind of lost or overwhelmed. It was very full (Sunday brunch time) and she was really trying her best, but would love to see her have some help (or if she’s new, maybe better training?) -The woman who was also at the front when we walked in was not very friendly or welcoming. I got the impression she may have been a manager. It was a lady in a black adidas jacket. She wasn’t acknowledging anyone as they walked in. I overheard one party tell her they had been waiting longer than another group that had just been seated. She didn’t apologize or anything, she just told them she had said their name, but this group had been sitting maybe 2 feet away from where she was calling names, so they definitely would have heard. -The same lady as above only called our name once in a loud and crowded atmosphere. Luckily, I had been paying attention and went to ask what she said. She was saying another name several times as I was trying to ask if she had called ours. She didn’t acknowledge me in any way, and was about to cross out the other party when a different employee, an older gentleman, happened to walk up and say maybe they were waiting in the area between the two doors (they were since it was so packed inside, and she had no intention of checking).
I would honestly give 5 stars if it weren’t for the one employee, but she left me with such a bad impression of the Denny’s, especially as I’m pretty sure she was the manager. I can’t imagine how it is for those other employees to work under someone like her. As someone who has worked several years in the food service industry, I know that a manager needs to set the example in order for a...
Read moreThis was our 2nd time in a month. The first time last month was not the greatest experience. The waite staff was not enthused about there job ( all the staff). Wife and I had the harvest grain breakfast around 11 a.m. ish. The server was curt and un caring. Didn't come by to ask how things were, no refills for coffee, need to refill ketchup, no sugarfree syurp. The food was average warmth. Notice other servers were on their phones, not serving the customers as well as doing sidework. After we ate , we asked to speak to the manager. Her name was Nancy. We both wanted to giver her our obversations on the restaurant. She said she had only been at this location and she was aware of issues with staff, cooks and there duties. Both my wife and I have retired from coroperate world management so i think we know things. Ms Nancy thanked us for our impute. This was a month or so ago. Today, Dec. 14, we stopped in. Noticed there were New clean menu's, a variety of new items. Immediately we noticed a change and staff involvement. Food was hot, asked for sugarfree syrup, was asked from server about if we needed anything else, refills several times. The time was about 11 a.m. ish. Watching others handeling the tables then to register and back to tables taking care of the customers. We asked to speak to the manager on duty. We introduced ourselves and went on to compliment what we seen. I can't remember her name but she said Nancy was off. The manager said they have chaged things. We even saw the server that waited on us the first time. Noticed she was more engaged. We don't give out comments too often but, when you see things change you need to let people know. So if other managment and owners reading this, get you head out of the sand! Customer service is King. That will bring in money to you as well as money for servers. We are Gary and Merle From...
Read moreI was provided EXCEPTIONAL service from my waitress, Jill!! She went ABOVE and beyond my expectations of a "late night diner experience". Where normally you would expect mediocre, if any, service at all. Usually having to hunt down your server every time you need a refill, have a question, or just to place your order in general; but that just wasn't the case here. When first arriving, there were 3-4 other booths taken up with customers and Jill, the only waitress on duty, was making it look flawlessly easy making sure everybody was taken care of and making sure we were content and seated no more than a minute after walking through the doors. even when it was just us left in the restaurant she didn't go sit down in the back and disappear(which I must say was definitely a first for me to see personally) instead, she steadily checked on us and made sure everything was good all the way until check out, all while striking up small talk. It was as if we were sitting in her own kitchen! I was beginning to lose hope and Faith in the wait staff of the late night dining industry. That being said it's highly refreshing and nice to know that they're still great potential and amazing employees that actually care about their job and their customers regardless of the time or where theyre working. So, thank you Jill, for effortlessly restoring my faith. i'll definitely be visiting again...
