I went to Firehouse Subs this afternoon with my husband. Firehouse Subs is one of my favorite places to go to for lunch. My husband and I wore face masks because I am immunocompromised (immune system's defenses are low, affecting its ability to fight off infections and diseases) and Covid is still prevalent so naturally, we are cautious. We were in the area and thought we’d stop by and stretch out our legs and order some lunch, but upon entering and coming up to the counter to order, we were stopped by an employee with a (very) long beard. He told us that we cannot wear masks due to “security issues”. Call me crazy, but what “security issues” come about in a Firehouse Subs? Did he think we were going to steal sandwiches? I am a 5’4 muslim woman who wears a hijab. I’m questioning if this were ONLY about my mask, but including my headdress. If I were to wear my full religious garb that covers my face, would I still have not been assisted at Firehouse Subs? Is that not discrimination? Is refusing to serve my husband and I for wearing masks to protect our health not ableist? If it were an elderly person wearing a mask to protect her health, would she have been refused of service? If a firefighter came in wearing his entire uniform, mask and all (silly example but, oh well), would he have been refused service? The interaction we had with Long Beard was short, we didn’t cause any trouble whatsoever, we accepted that we wouldn’t be assisted and decided to leave, but it left a sour taste in my mouth and it’s so unfortunate because I adore Firehouse Subs and it would’ve been my husbands first time trying! I have not once had an issue with this business/employees up until now, but I don’t think I could ever step...
Read moreHad the worst experience at Firehouse subs today. First I should say that I love firehouse subs. Quality of food and customer service is always excellent. Until today ..Kylie was taking mine and my husband's order. Picked her nose while taking our order was rude and treated me like I was completely wasting her time. I tried to use my firehouse points and she berated me for not having my code ready before she hit the total. And I asked her if she could just scan the code. She informed me she didn't know about that and asked for full price with an attitude. I said..no cancel the order so I can use my points. With an eye roll and a huff. She canceled iur order. At that time I asked for her supervisor. Who came over..meanwhile Kylie yells through the restaurant complaining about me to her coworkers and is so loud every person in the restaurant can hear her. While her supervisor is getting me the managers phone number and Kylie is continuing to bash me, I did inform her that it is unprofessional for her to loudly bash a customer whether she agrees with them or not and that she owes me an apology. Kylie informed me she is not going to apologize for her behavior. So rude. I spoke to her manager Layne who was very kind and apologetic and assured me this is NOT the level of customer service that he expects from his employees. Which I really appreciated. I will definitely come back. However if anyone else has a negative experience with Kylie. I certainly hope they call...
Read moreAbsolute horrible experience. We ordered online, but it took so long to get the order in that we arrived there just a couple minutes after placing the order. They asked us to pull around and park, they would bring it out when ready. Five minutes go by, two cars go through drive through and get their order while we wait. They aren’t busy. I walk in and the kid points at a bag on the counter and says that’s my order. I asked how long it was sitting there and he says 5 minutes. The manager Ashi is standing there, hears this dialogue and comes over. I asked him why they didn’t bring it out, it’s hot food. He tells me they just put it there. I said, your guy just said it has been there for five Minutes. He turns, walks away and goes back to making food. I asked him, are you done talking to me? He ignores me. I told him this is horrible customer service. You don’t tell someone to pull out front, make hot sandwich’s, don’t bring them out, and then refuse to discuss the situation. He should have remade my order so that by was hot. He didn’t say he was sorry, he didn’t say his team made a mistake he just shoo’d me away and kept working. I won’t...
