IF YOU WANT FRESH FOOD AND GOOD SERVICE GO TO CHIPOTLE OR THE CABO BOBS ACROSS THE STREET!!!
Went in on a Saturday night around 8pm, at this location off 1960 right before Cutten. The grill cook was a younger skinny black guy named Josh or something like that. They had a little bit of steak on the line. I was the only customer in the restaurant. There are two employees. I told the guy I had 3 orders that had steak and that heād probably need some more. The grill cook then informs me it would take 20 minutes to cook the steak. I told him it probably wouldnāt take that long and didnāt mind waiting.
He put the steak on the grill, set a timer. Timer went off he flipped the steak once. The timer went off again he the. Flipped the steak again a second time and set another timer. Then the timer went off again and he flipped my steak a third time, I now get the impression heās purposely over cooking my steak, because by now both sides have cooked for the allotted time twice. The steak they use is fairly thin, plus who wants an overly well done steak?! He had no thermometer. The whole time heās cooking my food, heās standing over the grill doing nothing, on his phone, and avoiding eye contact with me watching him. The timer goes off again and he takes the steak off the grill and sets a timer and watches it cool down.
At this point Iām in the restaurant for half an hour. More people have started to come and get in line. After that timer goes off he goes to sharpen a knife, this is when I say something about him purposely making me wait, because to me it felt like he was purposely giving me a hard time. I ask, āyouāve been here all shift, you see Iāve been here waiting patiently waiting for my food, is there not any other sharp knife in the building you can use?ā His reply was, āI wanted to use this one.ā Iām BAFFLED. He cuts the steak and then begins to make my order with a clear bad attitude for saying something to him.
I order a burrito, a nacho, and a kids taco. He rushes me down the line, and makes my food incorrectly. We exchange words, he then proceeds to tell me, āWhy donāt you just get your old ass out of here, Iām trying to go home. Youāre like 40 with a wife a kids, coming in here giving me a hard timeā. As if me expecting fresh food and quality service was a problem.I end up leaving and going to Chipotle. I ordered online and by the time I got there my order was ready.
Moral of the story, If you want fresh food and quality service go to CHIPOTLE. because God forbid you want a Freebirds employee to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love freebirds most of the time, but I came to this location and the first lady told us its to early why are y'all hear already it was 11:15 and the door says they open at 10:30 I thought was so rude to say to someone. Then all of the food looked so old the onions looked distgusting, the lettuce was brown! It looked like I got stuff from 3 days ago, but I still moved along bc I don't like being the complaining customer, but when I bit into my burrito my rice was so crunchy it stuck in my teeth it was so bad! So the manager was like ok we can make you a diff burrito with Spanish rice not the cilantro lime rice that I like (I really don't like Spanish rice) I feel like they should've remade the cilantro rice bc I know I couldn't have been the only person that didn't enjoy crunchy rice! And they didn't take the rice off the line after I informed them, they kept giving it to people... The 3 stars is for our nice the staff was besides the one lady & I love freebirds they just need to make the food fresh or better bc $30 for lunch for my husband & i, I expect a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was craving nachos and convinced my husband to come here for dinner. He had ordered a beef burrito and I of course ordered nachos with chicken. The girl who took our order and prepared our meal was super nice. The gentleman who checked us out however, had a bit of a nonverbal attitude.
My husband thought the burrito was just okay. He asked for hot sauce, but I assumed it was not hot enough for him. He applied the habanero sauce from the table, and still was not satisfying. He then went to the condiment section to find another hot sauce, and still was a bust.
My nachos was good and I really enjoyed it. It was a huge platter, so of course I took the rest home. Too afraid to bother the gentleman for a box cover, I went ahead and just got some foil and covered my food up. Another young lady saw me and got me a box cover which I thought was so thoughtful.
I'll probably give this place another shot the next time I'm craving nachos. As for my husband, I'll inform him to bring his own hot...
