I used to frequent this store about a year or so ago. Then decided to start back shopping there this year. The difference between now and then is the customer service towards Afro-Latinx & Black people. Initially the first time back I thought something was off. My name was no longer in the system which was odd and they way I was treated wasn’t exactly welcoming. However my suspicions were correct the next time I went back two weeks ago. There is an older lady working there (never seen her before). She stared at my wife so harshly as in disgust for no reason at all while were checking out. I remained calm and respectful in spite of that, when other outcomes could’ve been had. Anyhow, I had to stare at her back in order for her to stop that’s how long it was. Luckily for her I wasn’t in a mood to ask her what her problem was. Then she tried to smile. By then the impression was already made. We didn’t want a smile and ultimately decided to find another Keemat to patronize. The audacity of their behavior to relocate to another country, bring their family, make it their home, open up stores, only for them to treat the Indigenous Americans now known today as Latin and Black with prejudice and disdain for no reason at all. But perhaps for what they were taught but have not experienced personally. As there is a difference. And I can say this after shipping at Indian/Middle Eastern stores for over 7 years and another locally that treated my family in a condescending manner. Suffice to say we longer shop there. One could say stop shopping at “their” stores if you don’t like the “treatment.” Why should that...

My husband and I are loyal customers so imagine my delight when during a particularly tough week I realized that the groceries could be delivered home as we fall within range of their delivery services.

Having placed my order I realized that while the $5 delivery charge was applied there was no delivery date specified on their portal or on my invoice. Both thinking that to be a major issue at that time I rang them up and spoke with a very pleasant and professional young lady, who apologized profusely that their delivery driver wasn’t available today and that the weekend would not work either for delivery as the person would be busy with store work as weekends are hectic.

I asked if store work also meant delivering to customers and she was quite sweet and said that she’d cross check with her manager. While the lady I spoke to was amazing and so apologetic and nice, the manager obviously did not realize that I understand his mother tongue and could hear him tell her that there would be no delivery and if I insist on speaking to him then to cut the call- which I hadn’t by the way.

Now despite that I have placed an order for pick up but I am quite disappointed in the poorly structured delivery system of this store- seeing how they offer it on their order portal and advertise it on their website plus charge for it, and the unnecessarily rude manager. Maybe he was having a bad day like we all do sometimes but honestly that’s not a good enough excuse for everything he said and how he said it.

The two stars are for the fab woman who...

WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER.

The guy who seems like owner or I'm not sure if pretends to be owner has no knowledge on handling clients. First they have all the wrong price tag put near highly priced similar items, and if pointed out while billing they want customer to go and check the all other price marks near by there. I bought one threaded coconut packet which is put behind price tag of $2.99 and while billing they charge $4.99 on inquiring that the owner(read pretender) asked me to go and check other tags nearby. When I did not find that they said sir we have bar code issue, after that his subordinate came up with new tag from somewhere. Now I asked him please provide me the product that has $2.99 value of same qty., he tells we don't have that product. So my issue is if you don't have that product why wrong tag are there on first place also whatever product are there , Where are the tag?. I tell you this I have pointed out this similar error of them 3 times in last one and half month. I suppose there something really wrong happening. People who are not paying attention...

First time there and was shocked to see what they are charging for chappati $4.99 wth. That’s highway robbery. Others are charging $2.99 and some daring stores are charging $3.49 but these guys beat them all. Come on man we all like to make money but don’t get so greedy ke upper wala jhar se chamat mare aur apne mu bul giro. Me being new in town bought three packets smh! This is a response to the owners response to my post. We all worked through Covid secondly this chappati is not made by you all. You guys are just the middle man. This comes from California so please don’t tell me you use the best flour. You had nothing to do with the making or the packaging of this chappati. Savoy had their people working during Covid and so did a lot of other businesses. I am not an attorney or a judge but your defense would be thrown out of court or in any sensible people gathering.

Ensure you follow these tips if you’re shopping at this store: Tip 1: Always look for expiry dates on the packets. As written by other reviewers you find lot of stuff expired. Observed this third time in a stride. Informed the cashier and he didn’t even care. Tip 2: Try memorizing the price that is displayed in the shelf and compare it with the amount the cashiers rings you. I had an instance yesterday where whatever I was charged and displayed prices didn’t match. Informed the cashier and he was so rude. Tip 3: Observe if the cashier rings you for the same product twice. We have a tendency to not looks the bill in detail and when I observed it yesterday, I was charged for the same product twice. Highlighted my bill! Keemat sells fresh vegetables on Saturdays, which is the reason that takes me to their store.

Instead of our reliable store we decided to try out Keemat — decent store though expensive - At the check out the cashier Kamlesh went on a sales pitch and insisted that we replace the small ginger garlic ( Laxmi) paste with the bigger 24 oz bottle as both were being sold at the same price. Came home and kept thinking why a Desi shopkeeper would sell something cheaper and make it sound as if he is doing a favor — RED FLAG I checked the expiry date and realized he had tricked us — it was due to expire in 10 days. Basically instead of trashing expired items he palmed it off on me. It cost me less than $3 and won’t make any difference to my life style but the trust and faith is lost Not sure I want to go there again
